It was. Don't think it went up the hill tho.
That looks great; refreshing change from the sea of Escorts and Capris that abound at retro gatherings.

now that's rare. Not sure about the wheels TBH, but that's an easy fix

Said to the wife (who liked the colour!) that's possibly the rarest car you will see today or at any point! It was mega clean and didn't look like it was used much if at all.

What is it? I recognise it, particularly the rear quarter but it's not coming to mind.

An Opel?

It's a manta 400 of which I believe 200 odd were ever made. They were rocking horse poo back in the day and rarer now. 230bhp or so ?

Just googled and 245 seems to be the original number. A minter sold for £50k!

Now I feel like an idiot because my very first thought was Manta 400 but the front end threw me. Don't ask me why!

Hand your badges back in. It's not a manta 400 - it's rarer, it's an Ascona 400 (or replica)

Ok cool! It was the booted version rather than hatch which made me think Manta as I recalled the ascona being a hatch? Either way, v rare indeed!

:-)
To my untrained eyes it looked pretty original but I suppose with time and effort anything is recreatable.

The 911 Turbo (or recreation) was fairly quick up the hill to say the least.

It belongs to Phil from Driftworks. It's a 911 Turbo and one of RWB's first cars. It's cool. You will find more about it on their youtube smile
