Didn’t know they made them as an actual model. I saw one at PH meet once and thought it was one someone had made.
I had a guy come to look at my old Legacy Spec B when I was selling it and he turned up in an E36 tourer that he had put M3 running gear in
Less than 1000 I think, & all originally LHD. One of the reasons BMW shy away from them, in spite of all the plaudits, the numbers rarely stack up.

It’s strange really. I’m sure the bean counters at BMW thoroughly considered the pros and cons before resolving not to produce an M3 Touring, but it didn’t deter Mercedes and Audi. I’ve no idea whether theirs made economic sense however.

Indeed: the M series cars were going through production changes at the time; the e34 was the last hand built in a separate factory; the e39 moved down the same line as the standard e39 cars, by then they were looking for economies of scale. streamlining that way adds cost if you want to add variety. The same with the e30 to e36. My feeling is that BMW were happier letting Alpina pick up the slack if needs be, albeit with a subtly different product. Sometimes a market that size just can't sustain too many choices; in effect, if BMW had stepped in, on of the other two would probably have stepped away. I guess they just didn't feel the need for a halo product enough to make it worth having that fight..

A massive shame/missed opportunity, it wasn't/isn't like BMW explore and fill some really strange niches elsewhere, and/or go all in to develop limited number specials frown

Staring from 400k!?

Lovely car, just feels like a chunk of change
Seems a fair price for the amoutn of custom work that's done.. It's kinda like a Singer build but for a different car model.

Almost beyond singer in a way, i'm fairly certain speedkore pride themselves on their carbon work and all of the Carbon weave faces the same direction all over the car.
It's the Pagani hyaura if you prefer Muscle cars to italian super cars.

24 Hours of "Le Mons" does produce some hilarious cars.

I’ve seen it before. It really is epic, and a nice change from the usual Mustangs, Camaros etc (Slight bias, I used to have a Javelin smile)
