For those interested the build thread is here...

Out of interest, did you always have the end look in mind, or sort of get to it gradually?

After my SEC build is done to the point i'm happy with it, going to try and Porsche 914 restomod - and spend far too long debating in my head what it'll end up like. Very interested in the process of how others who have nailed it get there....
I always had that look in mind. I would've liked deeper offset wheels or a staggered fitment but that's not easy with the 4wd. I was also certain I was going no larger that 16", actually 15" would probably be better but they won't clear the brakes. I saw the Rays TE37s and just thought they would suit it. It's turned out more or less exactly as I planned really.
I think you need an image in your head before you start, or you could possibly end up with something you don't really like as the project changes direction as it progresses.

Loving the plate on the Brat.

Is PPC in the shops or is it mail order only?

Love the Brat, pop some normal sized, less blingy wheels on and it'd be a contender for the sleeper thread too. Although it would be a shame to lose the TE37's

You can still get it in decent newsagents.

It's easier to make the Tamiya to match the truck...

Thanks for the kind positive comments gents, Spec of the truck as follows, it should be in "Practical Performance Car" Magazine next month.

1986 US Imported Subaru Brat converted to right hand drive.
1998 UK GC8 Impreza Turbo EJ20 engine, gearbox, rear diff, front struts and brakes all round.
Custom front driveshafts, propshaft and gearbox mount.
Rear torsion bars have been clocked.
Custom made rear 5x100 hubs installed on the rear to match the Impreza hubs on the front and allow fitment of the rear disc brake setup.
Rays TE37 5x100 16" wheels fitted with 205 45/16 Toyo Proxes.
Custom 2.5in stainless exhaust with classic WRX Prodrive rear box modded to fit.
Early Legacy Chargecooler, pump and radiator.
Walbro 255 High pressure fuel pump, Facet low pressure fuel pump feeding the swirlpot.
Subaru L Series power steering rack with early Legacy column UJ.
Homemade roll bar.
Rear de-bumpered with a UK spec foglight installed along with LED side repeaters to fill the bumper bracket holes.
Interior has been soundproofed and re-carpeted.
Bride sets, Sparco steering wheel, boost gauge, live AFR readout, Knocklight and a small revcounter has been squeezed into the original cluster.
Amazing. That's a big thumbs up from me!! Love the Tamiya model too...

Thanks for all the advice. I am actually tempted to get rid of my E320 cab and get to work on the SEC...

My convertible has actually been in dry storage for a year, and currently at a garage having the engine from a C36 AMG installed, with some better brakes. I just don't use it any more, since having kids. It's in full '90s p0rn baron spec:

The engine conversion sounds very promising,

I'm no Mercedes expert so please correct me if I'm wrong , i believe the C36 had the most powerful Mercedes I6 NA engine which produces nearly as much power as the 5.0 V8. Since the V8 wasn't an engine you could get in a factory E class cabriolet fitting the larger 3.6 is a good plan to gain 50+ hp.

Loving the rear spoilercool

Thema 8.32 running gear and interior transplanted into a station wagon body. Apparently 4 (yes FOUR) donor Thema's were used! Was for sale a few years ago for €29k. Who wouldn't want a Ferrari engined estate?

Not something that I'd _want_ (80's Lancia reliability and Ferrari parts costs but only 205-215PS. Not to mention the price rather put me off!), but a fantastic thing none the less.
