With some nicer wheels the exterior would be acceptable enough, but the engine seems a lacklustre choice - it you dropped in a modern Maserati engine (I'm sure you could find a written-off 3200 or 4200 GT as a cheap donor) that would make it much more appealing as a restomod project.

The wheelarches on their own might just about be acceptable, but the side skirts and those god-awful fake vents certainly aren't...

Front and rear views look great to me. The wheels the side view is, imo, just too fussy/cluttered.

It looks like a cheap plastic toy to me. Something about the skirts and the paintwork makes it look like a poor copy of the real thing. Very odd and not "decently modified."

I must confess to quite liking this Legacy. It has been factory tinted (as JDM), has these BBS wheels, but unsure if the smoked rear lights are too far...

Someone just posted this up on the Supercars and Rarities thread (with more pictures). It’s had some quite nice smoothing around the front and probably some other stuff.
