So you didn't want to know what happened but you went on a car related Internet site? I learnt this lesson about sports results a while ago.
Im watching the race now. Im careful on race day before watching highlights and I came onto this thread earlier because I was avoiding the news sites, social media and the Saudi F1 thread. I didn't expect to have F1 race stuff in this thread about modified cars.
That's the gamble. You can't have a massive moan if you inadvertently see the result online somewhere, in my humble opinion.
You wouldn't expect to see it on a thread like this one though, so he's right to be annoyed.

Indeed, partly with themselves though.

I wouldn't be annoyed with myself.

Instead of making it a wide arch Calibra, the whole shell is wider than a standard Calibra to fit the Carlton bits in.
Now you've mentioned it - I can see it in the front.

Awesome!
yes Screenshots from the video with a standard Calibra

That's very clever - and very good! You'd have to know your Calibras to realise.

I don't think the moderators can be expected to read every single post in real time

As the muppet in question, I apologised as soon as I realised what I’d done. This was some time after the original post was made.

Reminds me of the 928 based Golf that was similarly widened. The Calibra looks much better with that broad track, much more like a muscle car.

The Calibra is brilliant.

The overall shape has aged rather well, imo - and the wide version really improves it.

The only change I would make to that is using an estate as a base!

Those ties on the splitter always annoy me and look tacked on, but the rest of the car is pretty decent. Maybe the power-bulge is a bit much, maybe I am just comparing everything to the brilliantly subtle Calibra!

A Calibra with Lotus Carlton gear in it

Absolute madness but all the better for it. Definitely decently modified.
Not really modified is it, completely rebuilt shell with bespoke glass etc way beyond modified with the work involved.
