Surely a very sad day in the motoring world; is there anyone else in the world who will be remembered by 3 digits - 9 1 1 ?
A good man, a great man, and one who has probably more dreams for more people than anyone else 😥

Legend, 40+ years later and his epic creation still stands strongly, RIP, no doubt that a special version in his honour will be coming soon, and then a convertible version etc etc wink

From someone who enjoys driving one of the last 911's to be made, thanks for the experience and rest in peace

A shame - a bit young. I'm lucky enough to get to admire one of his creations every day smile

True.
RIP.
What a wonderful legacy to leave, 3 digits that actually 'mean' something fantastic
(rather than the other unfortunate nightmare date).

As an aside, the constant (propaganda) that 'we are all living longer' is beginning to seem not to be so, taking into account some other recent profile deaths.

Been a truly sad day today, losing not one but two legends, FA Porsche & Jim Marshall. Thanks to both of you

Must be amazing having designed the original Porsche 911 and watch it evolve over the years.

Really hope Porsche have a very limited edition or something to celebrate the life of this great man.

RIP.
Mmm. Original shape. Modern underpinnings. Limited number.

That would be a wonderful send off.

For me, they have never surpassed that first design.

Unless God is a PHer in which case it'll be "You do know you put the engine in completely the wrong place, don't you?".

RIP Herr Porsche, not a mega-fan of the marque, but I respect your contribution.

Yes - Osama Bin Laden.
Sorry for that, couldn't resist. As someone who is buying their 1st Porsche at the moment, I can really appreciate the effect this guy had on modern design. RIP, and thanks.

I owe that man a debt of gratitude, I've had 2 911's and loved them both.

How saddening to hear that. He's a lucky soul to mark his time and beyond with an icon as big as the 911. RIP Butzi Porsche. I'm going for a ride for his memory!

Was only at the Porsche Museum last week and saw his works of Art.

Some of the highlights from the Museum.

What a sad day, RIP FA Porsche.
