The ST170 is a good shout by far but again its an all rounder same with some of the fiats mentioned, id love a stilo abarth but i though the 5 cylinder ones were a bit out of my reach, i was looking for a 106 rallye as i've always loved the idea of them being spartan and just for the drive not for image or practicality.
Bravo HGT?Not a hot hatch, but nippy, 5pot turbocharged and has 'the sound' (of huge bills if it went wrong, probably!), not to mention styling by Pininfarina
Hey, you only live once!!

I personally would put my money in the direction of a 306 GTI-6 (and wholly intend to in the near future) but there's something about the coupe that says "buy me, I'll anally violate your wallet without lubrication but buy me, cmon, buy me!!!! buy me buy me buy me BUY ME!!!"

Or, perhaps, someone who knows exactly what they are...
So what's wrong with them then? They are fast
They have a lovely engine
Well suited gearing and close ratio
They handle very well
They can make use of the power
They have a much nicer interior than most hatches of this market
They are rare
They are tunable

Ford just copied EVERY aspect of the GTI-6 with this car, including the needlessly crap economy

Feck the heavy, complicated, going to break modern stuff and get a 205, either engine, superb to drive, simple and galvanised so rot isnt a huge issue and going up in value if you find an original one.
205!205!
205!
205!
Even my wheezy NA diesel feels nippy and gets nice comments in the car park (as long as no-one's around when I start it!)
If I didn't need the economy, I'd get a gti, or one with an Mi16 conversion.

It is a hatch but defo not a hot one..
hot to me is sub 7 secs 0-60 and handling to boot.
Sub 7 secs rules out pretty much everything in this thread then.hot to me is sub 7 secs 0-60 and handling to boot.
Believe me, the Ignis grips the road like a limpet. I've embarrassed a lot of much higher powered cars in mine on twisty roads.

I know they are good cars and handle well but 110 bhp to me will never be hot hatch not matter how many cars they do. Believe me, the Ignis grips the road like a limpet. I've embarrassed a lot of much higher powered cars in mine on twisty roads.
A lot of the cars are in my eyes not hot hatches even in there own time, but this is really in comparison to the age it was built. A hot hatch now would be 250 bhp + maybe 10 years ago 180 bhp +.
