The Corsa, utterly hateful thing, so many better small hatches about.

A3,A4,A6. Simply because people buy them for the badge, they are no better (maybe worse) than any other car out there.

Why the hate for the corsa/astra ? inexpensive, reliable transport. The badge hate is getting a bit pathetic I think.
The irony is strong with this one.

If anything, Alpina deserve more recognition than they get simply because they consistently take their mainstream competitors' adage of 'sports model = rock hard suspension' ad absurdum.

Hyundai scoupe
Ford capri- not for not liking, was out paced and old fashioned and did the company little favours.

I disagree, I love the MK3 GTI's, especially in 16v form.

I would rather have a 16v GTI than a VR6 actually.

Peugeot 206. Inept yet massively popular. Like Olly Murs.

Still it was rather more likeable than its successor...

So that's a list of pretty decent cars? I can't see why any of them shouldn't have sold well.

We bought our A3 for interior. There is nothing else out there that touch an Audi interior for a similar price. Your personal preferences may vary.

Not being funny but you have had a few, and could be described as biased, or 'Fan-boy' if you will.

Not really. I have two friends who both work for the dealers of the aforementioned brands. One spends his time pulling 20-40k mile engines and replacing them because just about every engineering tolerance you can imagine is way out, if he's not doing that he's battling with recall lists as long as your arm.
The other one doesn't.
I'll leave you to guess which one works on which cars.

Apologies if my preference for a working vehicle doesn't fit the correct fashion of the moment.

They just aren't very good. Every time I've driven/been in/been involved with either I've found myself thinking what I'd rather own in this class and price bracket. It's usually not a short list. It isn't badge hate, it's just that Vauxhalls, in my experience, aren't that good.
The Mk5 Astra was okay, and the latest generaton of Corsa and Astra aren't too bad, the Insignia is very good; The Corsa C is utter shyte and is the cause of a lot of my bile.

Me neither. Only thing though, with the Cayenne and Picasso you'd need to know how many they sold, and to know that you'd need to care.
