I've just sold my Z3-M in order to get something with four seats and the main contender so far is the Jag.
It has to be a convertible sports or GT, have four seats (rear ones can be "emergency seats" like in the XKR).
Budget is up to 10k and there's plenty of good XKRs for this kind of money.
Also, semi-auto or auto only and preferably RWD, no FWD! I don't want a manual for this car. Reliability, insurance group and fuel consumption are not important.

I know the best choice would be an SMG E46 M3 but I'm a bit of a car snob and I think it would be difficult for me to live with the image of that car.
Other options would be CLK 55AMG at the top of my budget or Audi S4 which I really don't like the look of.
V8 Mustang of the latest shape would be fine but they are too expensive.

Anything that I'm missing in my search? Was there a 4 seater convertible from TVR?

If you like the XKR then there's not much this side of an Aston that's all that similar unless you are prepared to look at classics.

If you want something a little more racey then a late model Camaro z28/ss might be worth a look. You can get them as a full vert or as a T-Top coupe (best of both worlds IMO).

I went from a V12 XJ-S to the z28. The Jag was more sumptuous, but the z28 is a better car to drive and be in and much more pleasing overall.

I haven't checked values, but 645ci convertible? Or are they still too expensive?

Edit: ARGH I spelled "too" with one 'o'!

Edit2: scratch that idea, someone will nick it.

They are nice, but my best friend has the M6 and since we drive very often together I'd rather have something else.

I checked them out, there's the nice : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220986277687?ssPageName=...

But a) I'm keeping the Corvette, so too much alike
b) they're A BIT over the top with styling wink

I agree maybe an Fbody and a Vette is slightly OTT. And the styling does get you noticed. Reckon the Jag is probably your best bet. Lovely motors. Watch for the usual V8 pulley issues and get the gearbox serviced. Oh and if you want it to go faster head to some US based sites rather than paying the humungus sums Paramount Performance charge.

I'm checking Ebay, AT and PH constantly for the new supply of XKRs wink
I was too busy and lazy and didn't go to Swansea to see one which is now sold. 80k miles, WITH LPG CONVERSION, great condition, power upgrades, new brakes and bushes, 80000miles. Sold for under 8k weeping
