Removing Private plate?

I've bought a vehicle with a private registration that I really don't like, but can see how it may be worth something to owners of a different type of car/bike.

I'd prefer to revert to the registration that it originally came with, can anyone give me a run doen of how to do this, and the costs involved?

It will cost you £105 to transfer it off and have it on retention for 12 months.
