Any worse than any other forum?
OCUK forums were worse imoit use to be like a dictatorship with copious amounts of bumming for good spirit
its for computer nerds.. Noticed a fair few members are on here since lots of people on this site are in IT

Theres a surprising amount of people in the watch section with cars that cost less than their watch
You have spent time checking people's profile against what watch they have and people on other forums think PH's are strange lots of people listed their car as being worth less than their watch or collection of watches.

no - there was a thread in the watch section about the value of your watch compared to your car.

Arr ok. But it comes down to priorities. Say if you are into jet ski's or boats etc. You will try to buy the best thing in you chosen hobby and the car comes secondary. There are some guys on PH that are seriously into photography. Some of their kit is probably worth more than one of my cars. lots of people listed their car as being worth less than their watch or collection of watches.
Ok this is predominately a motoring forum, but people have hobbies outside of cars and will sometimes put more finances towards the hobby that interests them the most. Not sure I really see your point.

Nothing wrong with driving 'old bangers' (I have one myself) or spending £5 on a digital casio watch
some watches may be bought as an investment, may have been recieved as part of an inheritance, may not depreciate etc

Its Sunday afternoon and im having a couple of drinks and as such I don't want to come across as confrontational but I am sorry if it does. But just because a car is not very valuable does not make it a 'old banger' One of my cars is a 1992 BMW E30 and it is far from being a 'old banger'.

never stated what constitues and old banger, what the value of an old banger is or whether your car is an old banger.
In many circumstances an old banger is something that is old, aesthetically displeasing due to its scruffyness and is mechanically worn/lose/sloppy.
If you use your car to alter everyones perception of you outside of circumstances such as a business environment - I would say you may well find you're a snob.
I love the fact I can load my car up with anything and everything - no need to worry about damage, where I leave it etc

I don't think that, we are just chatting, no malice either way.crocodile tears said:

Yep thats what I do with my E30, but I do like to take care of it.The Elise on the other hand, I would not park it in the same location as I would the E30. To much risk of damage.
