The DRL's aren't actually that effective anyway when it comes to dealing with stupid.
I had an Audi A4 Avant for a few weeks as a loaner with DRL's on it.
Stupid people still pulled out in front of me,not the kind that are turning to go with the flow, but those idiots that pull out to turn right and go right across the front of you.

If you are being dazzled by them then don't look directly at them, you are not a rabbit and you don't have to stare at the light.

Here we go again! DRLs are here to stay and all cars will have them eventailly, get used to it!
And once again that's not the issue. It's not a rant against DRL's, it's a rant against stupid DRL's. Most DRL's are just fine, the Golf's being the very best example of how they're supposed to be, in the spirit of the legislation. I guess the powers that be didn't allow for what they've become on some cars.

The very first thing I did was turn them off at the fuseboard the moment the delivery driver got out of the car. On the Fabia vRS the DRL's are weapons grade wker lights, exactly where the front fogs would be, the same shape, and stupidly bright.

But as soon as you turn the lights on, they come back on banghead

Can you not pull the fuse out? Im assuming they are on a different circuit?

That's what i'll be doing if my next car has drl's. Failing that, i'll just remove the bulbs.

Or of course you could just turn have them turned off via the software rather than messing around with fuse boxes/ bulbs wink

Not sure why people find them so offensive though

Another example:

Don't really see the big deal!

They could probably be deactivated with VCDS if you're really desperate!

They can also be deactivated with a fast moving steel toe capped boot - on my own car of course.

If low lights blind you, then you are not of sufficient health to be driving.

Just get off the road. Your eyesight is clearly not good enough to be in control of a car.
