Ohh, that appeals to me! If the internet stories are to be believed, then that is good for at least the same mileage again. Good find! smile

I wonder how much fuel has gone through that car too!

It has been mentioned on the barge thread too, and I believe it is now for sale somewhere else with no mention of the engine issues.

Quite a few on this one too smile

A 300k one, unless it's a typo. Seats look better than I was expecting if it has done 300k.

Yeah Skoda is 100% taxi/ private hire material! Seems overpriced though, wouldn't be worth much at all in the trade less than half what he's asking I'd say. Not so sure about the Astra, looks like an ex-company fleet car of some kind

Could that Astra possibly be an ex plod car?

Good find smile

Reasonably tidy E46 318i on AT with 211k, fairly rubbish spec and looks like it has had a Sport bumper fitted at some point, but wears the miles well:

Bump with this amazing find from the Mercedes forum:

http://www.germancarforum.com/community/threads/gr...

thread said:
George Vassilakis, a taxi driver in Greece, has allegedly reached the coveted 1 million kilometer (621,000 miles) mark with a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E270 CDI, a diesel-burning mid-range w211 E-Class that was never sold in the United States.

Vassilakis bought the four-door sedan new and he says that it is still equipped with its original five-cylinder engine and six-speed manual transmission. Over the years he has changed the intercooler, the clutch and a nozzle inside of the turbocharger, but apart from that the car has always been content with regular maintenance.

Much to Vassilakis’ chagrin the digital odometer stayed stuck at 999,999 instead of going back to zero. Vassilakis still drives the car every day for work and based on how much diesel he puts in the tank he estimates that it currently has approximately 1,030,000 kilometers, a figure which equates to roughly 640,000 miles.

If the w211′s mileage can be verified by Mercedes-Benz Vassilakis might be eligible to trade it in for a brand new E-Class.

According to Mercedes’ Classic Center the man who put the most miles on a Mercedes is Gregorios Sachinidis, also a Greek taxi driver. From 1981 to 2004 he logged an intergalactic 2.8 million miles on his 1976 w114 240D before donating it to the Mercedes-Benz museum in exchange for a new C200 CDI.

Vassilakis is far from Sachinidis’ record but he likely holds the honor of having put the most miles on a last-generation w211 E-Class.

Think it deserves a place in the extreme mileage hall of fame!

That is absolutely brilliant, excellent find! The car looks pretty good too, besides the faded lights.

I was actually in one of them when I went to Rome earlier this year - it had 700km on it from memory. Still ran very well, and the interior did look worse than the one in the link amazingly.

Goes to show that Mercedes still make incredible cars.

Anyone feeling brave?

Not as high as some in this thread. But not bad for the kind of car it is, I don't think...

Considering how new it is that is very impressive! Interior seems to looks pretty good as well.

Which isn't right for a French car... hehewink

Here's one, '06 Merc E220 CDI, not as high mileage as the Greek taxi or GTIR's though:

Edit: Just noticed bonnet gap around one of the headlights looks a bit wonky...

yikes

That's equivalent to doing 53k a year, crazy mileage. Must have been used 24/7 as an aiport run minicab

Will be out of warranty in a few months too as Audi only cover the 3rd year if mileage is under 60k

Overpriced IMO given you can get clean C7 A6s with sensible mileage for not much over £20k from Audi dealers.

50k miles a year is high, but I wouldn't describe it as crazy. I used to do it when I was in a field sales role just travelling between clients. I think it's only when you start getting into the realms of 75k-100k per annum that it would be unlikely that someone is doing those miles as anything other than their job, rather than as part of their job.
