There's no way a 200,000 mile Picanto "drives like new"!

You'd have to really dislike someone to make them drive a 1.0 Picanto for 200,000 miles!

According to MOT history the EML has been on for the past 2 MOTs (with 40k miles in between...)

For a cheap runabout, £1500 isn't a lot of money or risk!

Oh well, it won't pass now with an EML on if I understand things right!

I'd love to know the usage scenario. Company car? Rental that for some reason was allowed to clock up ridiculous mileage? Equally, I'd be curious if it threw up unexpected bills as there probably won't be another 1.0L Picanto to reach 200,000 miles.

I had one identical to this one (black instead of silver though) as a courtesy car for 2 weeks and clocked up 450 miles, mostly on the A19 on my commute. I couldn't wait to give it back and get into my 4 year old Hyundai i30 at the time so it must have taken severe determination to do 200k in one.

And with just 10 days MOT left, that maybe explains the price.

Not to the same extent, but an odd choice for over 300k miles - Mercedes ML270

round here there are loads of those sort of motors running about for home help, elderly carers type of thing, with these as pool cars so they are used 7 days a week

Just short of 200K, poor bugger that was inflicted on didn't even get to see it hit the big 200!

On a serious note at say a average speed of 25mph (mixed driving) someone has been sat in that stbox for 8000 hours.

that's 333 days roughly out of the last 5 years in that thing.

Poor bugger.

Using your 25mph average, that's 8000 hours out of 10000 working hours in 5 years. I'm sure they would rather have been in solitary confinement on a bread and water diet.

Good point! I shouldn't be surprised the Picanto is employed in home help roles although I'm more used to seeing the Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107 in my neck of the woods; I've heard of the carer's private vehicle being used too. Now, I wonder what mileage my local home help cars rack up for they probably aren't the most gently driven.

Hey, what's with all the hate for the Picanto? I have one and it's a great little car. smile

I've done 28,000 miles in about a year and a half of motorway commuting and other than not being able to pull the skin off a rice pudding, it's perfectly adequate.

I retire in around fourteen years' time so at the current rate of mileage I should hit the quarter million miles mark. laugh
