Under 11k a year, not exactly high mileage. Interesting daily though

Agreed but it is a lot in an Elise...had a couple and it would take serious commitment to do the 11k every year in it for so long.

I wonder how many head gaskets it has used in that time as well? Looks in pretty good condition as well. Elise seats and door panels were always worn at 35k miles and it looks like they usually did at that stage and with no carpets to wear it looks to have done well.

I agree with the above
Its not the age but the miles on the clock on a car like this . It would be OK on a standard Merc but this will be ready to surprise you with all sorts of adventures !

Headgaskets have already been mentioned but how much wear is there to the bottom half of the engine . How long before it goes bang !

Must have cost a few bob in fuel, plus a good indicator of the longevity of the engine.

Fabia seems expensive for that mileage but the Up looks decent value! Both odd choices of car to do big mileage in unless driver instructor.

It's a shame that VAG cap their warranties at 60k miles in the 3rd year, otherwise those would both be totally risk free buys.

My brother and his girlfriend have hit 25k in six months of having their Citigo. Unfortunately the limit is 24k for the three year lease so they’ve bought a used Punto to drive instead

That’s the sort of thing they do hehe

So 50k a year in the most basic of VW Up!’s without Aircon. I wouldn’t want to work for the company that owned that and pushed its staff out in it......

Ha! I’ve read that ad on eBay. Didn’t think of posting it here though as for a 2.4l v70 that could do double it’s current mileage.

Seriously tempting.

Ruinous I’d imagine but that doesn’t even put me off.

Not sure it would be that ruinous really, I’ve had a few high mileage supercharged Jags and never had any major issues.

I’d have to put the standard wheels back on it.

I hear you - and I would re chrome the boot strip too - but if the tyres are decent I would wait a bit on the wheels. They aren’t _awful_

I've heard those XFR's are actually pretty solid. Engines are described as bulletproof, even.

Not trying to tempt you or anything laugh
