Not crazy high compared to some but for a petrol 2.0. Be amazing if it’s still on original turbo.

Has anyone purchased from carswith no res? I guess it is no different to buying from an auction itself. ay.
I have and as per above the cars are listed before being collected from bca, they have all the cheap scruffy cars that no one wants plus a few decent ones. After winning you turn up and check the car over as they don’t know anything about the cars so you need to give it a good check.
If is not one for you then you can walk away and if there are genuine things wrong they will agree some money off.
They have a huge turn over of scruffy cars so there are loads of people buying them, they are generally low priced but for good reason.
They do just buy from auction. Some dealers have to send all the part ex cars to auction to prevent fiddling and dodgy dealing by their staff so dont presume the cars are all sheet. Generally these people buy the cars at the cheaper end of book price so I presume they will be bidding on virtually every car when bidding is low and then probably stop if there are genuinely interested buyers at the auction. Therefore they scoop up the unwanted, scary, tatty or whatever stuff. They had a DB9 a few months ago.

They seem to buy a lot of range rovers. Some of them are a bit stty
I think they do through phases with different models. As a bit of a Porsche fan I noticed they had 5 or 6 997 cars a few months ago - maybe 12 months cant remember. I'd guess they buy one and then if they see a lot of bidding or make good money on it they actively seek out more or are willing to bid a bit higher at the action where they source their stock from. Lets face it who is bidding on 15 year old 997 cars which look a bit tired and unloved at an auction - answer not many people. Not sure if this has been posted. I drive a high miles 944 and it goes ok but this is interstellar mileage. Yet look at those seats. It all looks great to me. Price seems realistic if it's as good as it looks.

Nearly £8k for a 7 year old car with THAT mileage???https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Seemingly high mileage makes less and less difference to the price.

'333k, barely run in, it's nothing for one of these engines, drives like it's got 30k on the clock...' and priced as if it has..
333k may be "nothing" for the engine, but it certainly is something for the gearbox, bearings, driveshafts, hoses, every single rubber bush and mount, steering rack, alternator, PAS pump, AC pump etc.People still bleat on about this as if it's the engine wearing out that will kill a car, which it never is.

But you're right. It's almost never the engine, it's just a massive bill for a number of faults that usually end a cars life.
But if someone can do a bit of spannering themselves then nothings out of bounds. I follow a guy on youtube who fixes old Ferraris on his drive, usually for peanuts with the occasional big bill that probably equals the cost of a cam belt service at a main dealer for something like a Passat. It's pretty interesting to follow.

I've always thought about doing that ever since I saw the Maserati episode on Wheeler Dealers. But you're right. It's almost never the engine, it's just a massive bill for a number of faults that usually end a cars life.
