520d with 323k km (200k miles) in 2.5 years. Given you should have been staying at home for a year of that....

€25k feels a bit strong

Impressive. And massively over-priced.

Who would buy this??? surely if it was a private individual that new that he/she would be doing monster miles they would buy a diesel and have some luxuries, that's probably one of the lowest specd car BMW have ever sold in recent times.
I sort of did something similar. Got a boggo spec, petrol Octavia for a short commute, was only 15 minutes a day. Things went well quickly, ended up in a different job role that involved business travel. Started doing 35-45k a year travelling all over.

Didn’t see the financial sense in the depreciation. Car was reliable and i was all of a sudden so busy I didn’t want the faff of changing, so ran it into the ground for 4 years. Was going to be going even longer but I crashed it and wrote it off. hehe
The cheapest car is the one you already own.

I did 35k a year in a 15 year old 2.0i Avensis for 7 years. It would have been foolish to change it - chasing MPGs. It did 38 on a run and had already paid for itself three times over.

In BMW vernacular ES must stand for 'Extras Stripped.'

I was disappointed to see it has air-con. I remember messing around on the configurator to see how pricey I could make a 116i with no A/C.

318k miles. Doesn’t seem that high for year but look at MOT. Some years it did 2-3k miles. Other years smashing out 40k+ miles
When the mileage correction bloke is on holiday until after the MOT is due on your taxi.

I'm intrigued fail for 3 wheels missing wheel nuts.
Sounds like some fell down the drain and he swapped them around so he only had one missing on each wheel biggrin

Only 20k more than my 944, but mine is 2 years newer. They can go on for a long time if well cared for.

Why would you? You can have one the same model type, with civilian interior and a lot fewer miles for the same money...

Well indeed, but then you wouldn't have the scuffed bumper, interior full of holes, broken parking brake, and only one working key of the ex-plod car - and where would the fun in that be. bowtie

The seller of that BMW might have least valeted the seats?

Or would that eat too far into the profit margin?

My father in law bought an ex-police discovery 3, as it was cheap at the time.
Basic spec, holes in the interior and roof. The holes in the roof weren’t properly sealed (probably because they’re high and out of sight) so water ingress caused some properly strange electrical issues.
He also had loads of problems with the suspension and engine.

Essentially he bought an already fragile car that had been used hard for most of its life and had to deal with regular visits to the garage when it went wrong again and again.

So he did the only sensible thing, kept it and added a discovery 4 to the drive too!

That's the trouble with these x police cars. They have standard cloth seats Impossible to buy an x5 in this country without leather.

Despite the pictures being a symphony of oppressive grey, it does seem to have worn its miles pretty well. Despite that, I can't possibly imagine what goes through someone's mind thinking they can command such a premium for a motor with 300k plus on the clock.

It's not nearly new, it's not an interesting or custom colour, it's not better spec'd than the legion of similar age models for the same money at a third of the miles - why they think it's worth more than shed money to someone is either ignorance or arrogance.

It'll stay at that money until his ego finally caves and he accepts probably much less than you offered from someone, or shoves it through an auction. laugh

'Drives like new' is possibly the only thing that annoys me more than 'done 200k but drives like it's only done 60k'.
