Private plates adding a keeper...........

I am led to believe that in the past, having a private plate added a keeper to the reg book.

Can anyone confirm this, and if so when did it come to an end?

Not done so since 99 never knew it did but it defo didnt in 99 when I first added one.

That's not the case in my experience.....have moved 2 plates in and off of cars over the last 10+ years and it's never added a keeper....

Load of nads, I've had atleast 2/3 plates over the last twenty years and never added a keeper when I've transferred them.

I've had a cherished plate for 6 years and it's been on 5 cars. Only once did it add an extra owner when I transferred it and the DVLA soon amended the V5 for me.
