Do you carry a "breakdown kit" in your car?
Discussion
I always usually have:-
Spare wheel,
Jack,
Brace,
Torch,
Small socket set,
Small selection of screwdrivers,
Heavy Duty jump leads,
Towrope,
AA membership,
Camera, pen and paper.
Fire extinguisher.
Small spade (in winter)
Like the boy scout motto....."Be prepared"...
And no, I don't drive a TVR.....

In the olden days, my boot always had a cardboard box full of spanners, screwdriver, mole-wrenches, pliers, Stanley knife and so forth.
Then I started dealing with criminals who carry similar kits for "going equipped for theft" and "possession of a bladed article in a public place" and reconsidered and now generally don't.

All that stuff would mean I wouldn't have any room in the boot! Fully paid up AA membership makes me feel safe (although I know a puncture etc could cause me sooo much agro!)Spare wheel, NO

Spare wheel, jack, wheel nut spanner and couple of small small spanners are standard fitment in my car, the compressor, jump leads and a couple of pairs of latex gloves I added though.
On the bike I have the standard Yamaha toolkit, plus a front spindle key, which is enough to do virtually anything to it. I've then also got a pucture repair kit and gas cylinders, cable ties, gaffer tape, electrical tape, multi-tool (cheap leatherman equivilent) small socket set and spare clutch cable under the seat. Keep meaning to pick up a spare set of levers too.
Mobile phone and RAC card are always handy too but only needed once so far after my reg/rec fried the bike battery some years ago.
Oh and when commuting in the winter a pair of waking boots, full set of waterpoofs and sleeping bag live in the car.

I probably should take with me, 6 liters of oil, a set of Vanos solenoid seals, a 32" wrench, a hammer and a small tool kit. Had 2 of the brilliant "uprated" Vanos seals fail on me after a couple of hundred miles with subsequent oil losses and tours on the back of a tow truck.
And I was lucky that I didn't damage the engine.

In each car I have:
A pair of old walking boots.
An old coat.
Beer tokens.
In the past there was also a pack of Marlboroughs and a lighter.
If I'm going on a long trip I have a builder's holdall containing the required kit for EU travel plus jump leads, tyre weld, fuses and basic tools that just gets slung in the boot.
