So this year so far between myself and the Mrs cars we have the grand total of 3 car parking bumps all not our fault.

mine parked on the street....got reversed into...damaged wing...no note advised later by phone

Mrs 1 on the street ...reversed into by van .....broken number plate scuffed bumper...mrs present other driver agreed to replace plate

2nd today parked at...dare I say it..Asda! ...driven into and drivers door heavily scuffed and dented......note left on the car to get in touch.

Only saving grace is that both cars are just snotters being run in full on bangernomics style.

What is going on? is it the fact the cars look fairly unkept that makes people drop there guard a bit? or is it just lack of ability?

Got to say I would be livid if I had something decent.

I think people just have no respect for other people's property.

Someone parked too close to me at work a few weeks ago, I could see that she had parked too close, she gave me a look to suggest that she knew she'd parked too close. She opens her door and low and behold... Bang goes her door on my car.

furious

I think lack of ability does have something to do with it in some cases though.

I think it is just law of averages I had nothing for years then 27 Aug 2010 had my C2 VTS backed in then on the 11th October 2010 my Xsara got hit as I stood and watched the woman have 3 attempts at parking nose first in a space and a half space before clouting it.

Count yourself lucky you got notes. In my Corsa, in 2 years I was hit 6 times and not once left any information.

Needless to say I always go to place with loads of spaces. All happened in multi storey car parks.

Bigger, wider, modern cars with big tyres and lousy steering lock and slitty windows and massive blind spots, all too high and towering over traditional compact cars.

Stupid drivers too.

Did you tell your insurers? I know you're supposed to but...who fancies majorly increased premiums for the next 3 years?

My wife was involved in 3 accidents in 2 months. 1 was her fault, the other 2 times she was rear ended (pfnar pfnar) whilst stationary. They were all fairly major shunts and the insurance had to be informed. Her insurance premium went from £400 to £1000.

Watching people in car parks just letting their trolleys hit parked cars, and just opening their doors fast into the next car, I think it is this.

What is strange however is it isn't people in cheap and nasty cars I see doing this, it's usually a less than three year old car owner.....

Or Galaxy gets a new dent about twice a year,

Some tt clouted it, got caught by a passer by and she took his reg, went through the insurance and he denied it, decided to just ignire it as had other things on, then they put our insurance up due to the bump !

My youngests hard of brains mate dropped his BMW into the door, ruining the skin basically, very awkward bump, it landed about 2 cm above the rub strip where it would have caused no or little damage,

Wing got caught by someone in Sainsburys

She caught the front on the house shunting the car up as far as it would go, answer, not that far

Another dent on the door, right on the swage.

One last week, black four by four next to her, she notices the next day that a door edge had hit above the drivers door handle leaving a dent and some black paint

Have given up now
