Personally for me the 911 is a car I aspire to own.

However,

You are comparing 3 cars, 2 at circa £110k and then the GT3 RS 4.0 at £190k??????????? Surely you should be comparing that to the 458 and MP12????

Oh and where did i get the value of £190k???? Well thats what Chris Harris' one is up for sale at so don;t beleive that sob story about the finance in EVO mag.

Anyway the GT3 RS was £128,000 new (pretty similar price to the others and certainly not 458/MP4 level). The fact that's it's now worth a bit more due to rarity etc is irrelevant.

Now you are quoting speculator prices. When at the price that the Monkey's finance company paid, the 4 litre was pretty close to the others...

GT3 for me every time..but...

I've just bought an E92, totally standard, manual, mint for £20k With a £4k Aprovic exhaust it will put out the same power as a GTS. How about a £25k test.

I agree about the fuel consumption though, my old E39 M5 was more economical!!

I'm buying shares in Shell and Michelin.

How can the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 justify a £60k increase in price over 1-2 years just because it is rarer i dont understand why someone would pay that much more unless they REALLY REALLY wanted one that badly?

Is the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 can it be whispered in the same breath as other Porsche greats.....such as 959; Carrera GT; 993 Turbo S; the original RS etc?

All lovely cars......i think i would have the 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 myself as it looks the "purer" car with a more involving experience and the M3 GTS second. Though i am sure they are all great fun.

I personally think BMW should have made a successor to the CSL.......so pretty much the GTS sold in a larger quantity at a lower price point and badged it as a CSL. I dont understand why BMW chose the GTS badge?

BMW have got a bad habit recently of confusing badges e.g. 323 has 2.5 litre engine; E92 325 has 3.0 litre engine etc....

I really enjoy these weekly videos. They are very professionally presented, it's like Top Gear but for car nuts, not for general entertainment.

Particularly enjoyed this comparison, and it's good to see the cars both on the road and around a track, made for a great feature.

I agree. I personally think the lack of music interrupting hearing the cars is one thing that really marks these Monkey videos out. It's fantastic.
