I'd never vote for the Mini, the only thing against the RCZ for me is the Ugly Betty mouth. Can't they put the new Peugeot front end onto it?
Peugeot do a range of options, including different front grills, just so you know ;-)doogz said:

Nice enough cars but are they really better than a TT or Scirocco? VAG have that market category pretty much nailed.
IME, the MINI is a much better drive than either of the above.Fatima Whitbread is a very good athlete, but aesthetically......... ?
While I agree with the (so far) general consensus that the RCZ is the better looking of the two and possibly genuinely in the good looking department when it comes to cars - and that the mini looks like it grew-up living in the bell tower of notre dame - I have to question the flip side of this story.
How many here have actually driven an RCZ? I took the trouble to get a test drive when they first appeared thinking I might have found a suitably stylish coupe that stepped outside of the Audi lineup. Initial impressions were good, it is indeed a nice place to spend some time, the cabin is indeed very nice but the whole thing came crashing down on the dynamics. Try and wind it up and you are forced to take a laid-back approach because it simply won't be hurried. A real case of all show and no go.
The biggest hindrance was the gearbox, even my old TVR T5 was slicker, easier and quicker to use. Going from the rather sweet shift of say a Clio or a Megane (as a benchmark) was enough to make me hand the keys back and say "thanks but no thanks".
Now whenever I see them on the road I just laugh inwardly to myself and feel smug in the knowledge that I didn't blow £25k on one...

Sure, it's never going to win the A-B country lane blast against a mini coupe, TT or scirocco, but then that's not the point of this car. It's about style, while still having enough performance and capability to enjoy in real world scenarios.
I like the RCZ but was very disapointed with the interior. On my 407 GT coupe the interior is solid and very nicely put together.
I sat in an RCZ at the Wokingham showroom and the interior felt like my wifes Citroen C4, average and cheapish. The seats did not feel as sturdy.
It's a shame cause if they were to make one with a quality interior and a stronger, more potent engine, I would definatley trade in my 407.
