Very sad loss, but a hell of a good innings for a guy who just didn't know the meaning of retirement, even with his health problems.

RIP Carroll, a true inspiration and responsible for some of my favourite cars frown

least they could do is release a limited 1000bhp model now.

If anyone embodied the 'against the grain' thinking, it was him.
Ok it may not have always been totally sucessful, but there was never any consessions, no compromise.

RIP Carroll Shelby. Just caught the tail end of "Custom My Ride" tonight when West Coast Customs built the Ltd Edition Mustangs and the "Chasing Classic Cars" with Wayne Carrini tying to sell the championship winning Cobra when he got up on stage and his enthusiasm at that age was clear to see. A true, bona fide legend. frown

Met him once without even realising who he actually was.

He's the man that shows you CAN (or could) polish a turd biggrin

Utterly charming, clever, wonderful engineer.

sad loss, but as Stu R said, a pretty good run. A (slightly) modernised Cobra is still my dream car. Just a beautiful, raw thing cloud9
