This looks like a wonderful place to be ...

Was sorely tempted to buy it!

E38's are one of the most comfortable cars I've ever driven... very nice interior too...it has aged very well.. Yes I'm tempted by that 750i too
+1 E38 is the pinaccle for 7 series interiors imho.

My old 740i individual, It had the heated 30 odd way adjustable sports seats with the horns and extended leather.

That seller is in cloud cuckoo land with that 750 though, Stonechipped to death front end cars a pre-facelift with the boggo steering wheel and nav, the floor mats look ill fitting and cheapo non-oem.

I mean barely two years ago someone had a 740I Individual up with a brown/purple/cream interior naturally i loved it and that was on 24k miles and MINT unlike the above and up at £7500, Car above looks like £3000 IMHO

Regards D. beer
Degsy. I keep an eye on e38s and their values are tickling upwards....these 750's on a swb are quite rare. What I have noticed though is how many 'mint' ones there are out there. Not sure it's worth that either A

It's not simply a case of how it looks, but how it makes you feel. Best one i've owned................

In no particular order, in my opinion:

  • Porsche 991 911R - with the brown 918 seats; a great mix of retro, race and road styling
  • Any Golf GTI MKV onwards - with the tartan seats and a manual gearbox for the golf ball gear knob
  • Audi TT MK3 - the beauty & simplicity of the virtual cockpit and the heater controls in the central vents & heated seat controls in the outer vents
  • Any Singer 911
  • Range Rover Holland & Holland
  • Rolls Royce - lambs wool rugs and a £20k picnic basket (its all in the detail)

My Merc A200d AMG Line, with its half leather / Alcantara seats is a nice & comfortable place to be.

Saab 9000 Aero interiors are also a extreamly nice place to be. With their Recaro manufactured seats.

This one is actually mine.

And for something Quirky, but functional, here is what was my Renault Alpine GTA V6 Turbo. Really great seats for their time. Very short shift gear lever, and a proper floor mounted pedal box !.

Beat me to it with the 9000 Aero!

As long as there is plenty of leather and its cream/tan with navy carpets.....always a winner! Alcantara headliners make any interior feel infinitely more special too...

Agreed, I loved spending time in this....
Agreed with both.
With the right options (sport seats, nav, sunroof) and colour I can't imagine a better place to be than the E46. It strikes a balance of old-fashioned simplicity (no touchscreen, all controls operated by physical buttons) and modernity (all the necessary bells and whistles) in a way that just makes simple, comfortable sense. I did 2k miles in a week in mine last month, and it was utterly fantastic.

(I'm sure the bloke who always says "the E46 seats are too high" will be along shortly to add his usual contribution)

Not to everyone's taste, but I spent many happy a mile in here

A friend of mine has an Alpina B6S which is a lovely way to travel.

A quick play on Jaguar's configuration gave me this

I was very surprised that not only has someone chosen the Sapphire Cosworth interior, early on in this thread, buy equally, nobody's come out with the usual 'it's just a Sierra dash' comments. I've had one for years and although it's not an Aston, it's a nice place to be.

My e36 has been replaced by an e46. I do a 60 mile commute every day in it and have to agree with the above. The seating position is much better than the e36 and I don't feel as if I need to get the seat any lower ( and I like to be low in the car).

I always found the X300 XJ6/XJ12 very soothing to spend some time in at the end of the day. Not particularly spacious but very comfortable. I was never so keen on the more rounded shapes they used in the X308, I felt it made the car feel more ordinary.

Just love this Facel Vega and the levers on the centre console which I guess are for heating and ventilation. Also like the banks either side of the gear lever.
