Oaft. Just wonderful.

Given the choice, I'd have 'mine' in a darker hue. Like, black.
Indeed my man, indeed. I know it's no GT2 but this is more my kind of thing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lI1PjgCV_c4&lis...

All this talk of price speculation brings me to a point. Can we not have stories about things for sale from people not prepared to publicly declare a price for them please? Lovely car, but unless Harris has been lent it for some video footage and this is a quid pro quo then I think that the free publicity warrants the full sale details...?
More than likely it's in "storage" at this dealership on sale under "Make me an offer" terms, rather than having a fixed price.

One of my favourite Porsches, perhaps my very favourite. This car defines "aggressive stance". The squat, wide rear arches, the massive spoiler and the superb 993 roofline all come together in the most amazing rear end of perhaps any car, ever.

From someone who has driven them both, perhaps Mr Harris would like to comment on the difference between this and the 997 GT2 RS in terms of performance difference and in particular the road manners? I remember reading about the 997 GT2 RS in EVO and the writers saying they were scared to give it 100% throttle for more than a few seconds, the acceleration was so vicious. What is the 993 GT2 like in comparison? I'd imagine it's even more a "widowmaker" than newer GT2 RS that has some 200bhp more!

with regards to 997 gt2 RS..

I attended a porsche presentation on hungaroring, last week, and one of their factory drivers was on hand.. so the questions quickly turned to favourite porsches and his answer was..
"997 GT2RS... I drove lots of fast and powerful cars, but this was the only one after which i went: this car is fu$%ing FAST! Must be SCARY on the ring"

Drove the new 991 on the track... for some reason, normal Carrera (non S) with manual gearbox and normal dampers was the pick of the bunch..lovely car.

Just goes to show that by paying stupid amounts of money, you *can* make hotrods socially acceptable.

Interesting but a bit pointless driving something like this on the road - and you could get a decent 962 for the same money.

"If the 993 is the peak of air-cooled 911 evolution, GT2s like this are the absolute pinnacle...maybe"

No its not...go and have a look at a 991 - know which I would rather drive across Europe...
Why are you comparing a brand new comfortable GT car loaded with electronics and driver aids with a stripped out 15 year old track / race car?

Having two 993 GT2Rs in our stable which we race and won many races over the years I get the appeal of these cars but my abidding memory is ashort passenger ride with a well known friend who own a Black Gt2 Evo and we left the pitlane completely sideways , pure car control.Shame the GT revival was cancelled as we were to be out then .

Pure, automotive filth - the Razzle of all Porsches. That said, I'd prefer a 993 RS Clubsport in a similar hue (if one exists...) and a bit of change to spend on things like food.
the razzle of all Porsches..brilliant..its why I am a member of Pistonheads..and on my favourite car...oh yeah..
Indeed the exact hue does exist. The first owner of the Orange GT2 clubbie also bought new a Blutorange 993 RS clubbie to keep it company.

Nice, but I'd still prefer my fave 911:

964 3.8 rs

Pretty much similar to the gt2 except the turbos. The grandad of the GT3!

If you like 993s then these are my two.... RS with Cup spec 345bhp engine and shortened gear ratios and GT2 with 500bhp.
