Hmm, £850, so realistically you could have a cheeky £700 bid and drive away.

I like it, I like oddball cars though, my uncle used to work for International Motors who were the Subau Importers when these were new and turned up in one, I was in my teens and it was just so awesome and I guess that has stayed with me.

There does seem to be a bit of a fear of anything different from some on here, with a bit of work and some nicer wheels that could look quite smart like the white one in the picture. Also, come winter it is permanent 4wd so pretty useful.

Good shed, 8/10 from me

One of those cars that looks much better in person than in pictures. I love it, great SOTW!!

Not for me. I think it's hideous.

I think looking at the description it's more likely to end up rotting away with some brambles growing through the middle of it.

Not one for me, that many miles on a Subaru Boxer engine and with a slushbox? Walk away, walk away...

The block is becoming more and more sought after in the Subaru world..would worry about that mileage but

I saw one of these on the Edinburgh bypass years ago and everyone was gawping at it as they drove past. To my mind well worth a punt. Even if it only lasts a year someone Impreza nutter would probably buy then engine for £500.

Any car with 80s show car 'opening windows within a window' or whatever the technical term is has to be cool, reminds me of the Aston V8 Zagato. Bit of Alfa 164 going on at the back end, old Giorgio must have been staring at one out of his office window.

I remember a car magazine back in the day describing these as 'Captain Scarlet's XJS'. Brilliant!

On the SVX itself, I'd rather go for a z32 300zx. Granted, it'd be an import if you went for the less complicated NA but I just prefer the Nissan for a number of reasons including superficially smile
I love Z32s but having had a couple of them I guess I'm biased, would have considered having another one had the price of E36s not dropped lower than James Murdoch's credibility

Whopping engine with cr*p performance saddled with nasty slushbox, lardy 80's looks, mega milage, potential for collosal bills..... but I love it smile
Correct about most things. But how could you love it? This is a 4 wheeled disaster area. Maybe if it was 250 quid you could take a punt that it might last for a month before something terminal cropped up.

I suppose it is different, but that doesn't make it worth considering. This makes last week's X1/9 look great...

OK how can the number plate be worth the asking price?!!

Its only a good plate if you own an SVX to stick it on and if theres SVX's going for under 1k then I doubt very much the number plate is worth more than 250 quid.......IMO

I have to confess to having one new ! It was a beautiful car to drive but it had a truly terrible automatic gearbox, I guess I was lucky, it had some interior rattles, so I took it back to my supplying dealer and they dropped their roller shutter workshop door right across the bonnet and front wings, from which point it was theirs again !

like someone already said M6! thats the bit I was looking at, plates with SVX at the end are 2 a penny, a plate with one number is worth a few quid and one with M6 is worth at least £500 minimum, just like an M3 plate..

In contrast. I borrowed one for a weekend a few years ago whilst my car was having some repairs done.

Nice drive from the West Midlands to East Yorkshire and back. Found the auto gearbox nice and smooth and it had no rattles at all. Seemed very well bolted together to me. It did turn a few heads whilst driving through Bridlington and Scarborough.

Then sell it to someone called Steve Vorajee Xavier. Sorted.
