A truly glorious piece of engineering.

Ive been extolling its virtues since seeing one up close at TG Live last year. Photos really dont so it justice, it oozes quality of engineering and build when you see it up close and looks worth every penny of the asking price.

So much more desirable than the Atom 500 IMO and if I was ever fortunate enough to have that kind of money to blow on a toy BAC would be getting it.

I wish them all the best with the car and hope we are seeing the start of a successful new chapter in the history of the British sportscar.

Apologies for the poor grammar BTW, my apostrophe key has given up the ghost...

0-62 in 2.8 and 530bhp per tonne (same as a veyron). Does it really not feel that quick?

I was wondering about that, surely it should feel fairly bonkers like say a Cat R500 etc? Ok,ok, neither are cars that are going to relentless lunge up above 150mph like the really big power stuff, but it ought to feel pretty dam fast pinning it in 2nd gear?

Now i realise that you guys felt pretty good getting the exclusive drive, but i'm not really sure that making 1 car puts the Briggs Brothers up on the same level as Chapman et al !!

540 kg and a steel chassis, must have a LOT of CF elsewhere to do that...
Caterhams are around that with no CF at all (and 2 seats!).
My Fury's about 580Kg with a full GRP body, two seats, two doors, a windscreen & a propshaft to carry around, so 540Kg sounds about right.

Yes please.

What are the rebuild intervals for the 2.3 Duratec at 285hp, in a 540kg car doing mainly track days?

I absolutely love it, but the single seat thing would spoil alot of the enjoyment for me at trackdays. For me taking passengers or letting family and friends drive my cars with me in them is a massive part of the fun.

I know it's hard to believe, but it's to do with where the power comes in, I guess. It's so easy to trundle along in fourth or fifth, then when you hit a derestriction sigh you really need to be in second - that's why it feels less-than hyperactive on the road.

Related to this - I'd love to know the servicing details of the Mono just in general as a road car too.

Probably not bad at all. It's only 123bhp/L which is not a mad output by any means, there are a lot of Civic and Integra Type Rs out there making similar specific outputs that run like clockwork and don't require any more TLC than a regular version in basic tune. If it's only used on track days then that might stress it a little. I'd imagine that using it on the road a bit too would actually be beneficial. As long as it's warmed up and cooled down properly I'd have thought it would probably be quite sturdy and reliable. It's got to last longer than a bike engine at least!

Fabulous looking thing and im sure its a truly thrilling experience to drive but 75k is a stupendous amount of wonga for a toy. So many cars out there for that sort of money deliver 90% of the thrills without such a big compromise but then I do recognise this is a serious niche product

It looks an exquisite piece of engineering.

I bet it would make you laugh to see in your garage and piss yourself laughing when you drive.

Well done chaps.

I haven't lusted after a car so much since I first saw an S1 Elise about fifteen years ago. The Brit motor industry does the track day/toy car thing very well, but there are lots of these things vying for a very small market and it's virtually impossible to establish yourself in a market dominated by Lotus 7 clones. Yet BAC comes off the blocks with a piece of engineering so astonishing in every area that I can't even find the superlatives.

There were no renders, no computer generated animations of how this thing would look, it almost seemed to appear fully formed and production ready which is something I've never even heard of. They've completely pulled off a sci-fi/concept/wipeout design style that hasn't really been done in real life before, and every single detail works, every angle looks superb, and boy do I want one. Realistically it's out of my price range but even I have to begrudgingly admit it's worth every penny, with a bit more power this could easily sell at double.

In fact the only thing I can think of to criticize is that they should go with a square number plate up front rather than rectangular.

Actually now I come to think of it, the Mono is one of the cars featured in Project C.A.R.S, I'm going to have to give that a good hiding!

I'll have mine in Gulf blue please.
