As above really, theres a real diversity of car lovers on here so I think a thread about what we plan to actually buy next would be interesting.

I'll start, I want an affordable, good looking coupe, which is reliable and not too raw because it'll be my only car for about 15000 miles a year so it needs to be a little practical too.

My thoughts have led me here, I've always liked them and they seem like fun without being too extreme.

So over to you what next??

I would like an austin 7 with some form of sport body, however what I really should be buying is a newer van for work.

But what I need to be doing is fixing the existing fleet first.

Good choice. I've got one and am thinking about playing with a F355 next.

Cheers

Depends if I replace my Mazda 6 or Cerbera first as I don't have any plans to sell either at the moment. If I replace the Mazda it'll probably be with a Jaguar XF. I'm leaning towards an Aston Martin V8 Vantage right now although that'll probably have changed when/if I sell the Cerb.

Thamks, I've always hankered after one and after driving a 3200 (didn't buy as it needed lots of work) I wanted to move to either a 4200 (more refined and less troublesome) or the more modern GranSport. I will plan to get one once I can sell the touring but it's on the to do list for sure.

Had any issues with yours so far?

Only just bought one!

Depending on which car I change next, turbocharged MX-5, Chimaera, e36 touring, or another Saab 9000...

Got to sell some first though...

Some form of fast estate with a V8 would do nicely!

C55 AMG or RS4/S4 Avant, perhaps? biggrin

My long term plan is an Merc/AMG SLS but they need to do a bit of depreciating first. Next car in 2 / 3 years when I next change is currently projected to be an Aston V8 Vantage but will probably have changed my mind by then.

For a daily drive?

Current favourite is a W124 Merc. But if financial circumstances change slightly for the better, I'll look at something like an 80's S-Class or a 90's 7-Series.

I've been kicking around in a 1.6 Astra that I bought off my mum last December as a transitional car and was waiting to see what I was doing with work etc before plunging back into buying something newer.

Having just spent the last week doing some decent mileage I've realised it's a decent enough daily driver, doesn't owe me anything and has enough tech in it to get me by. So, instead of buying 1 good car that will plummet in value I'm going to go down the 2nd car route for £7 / 8k.

Current options are Elise / TVR (of some description) / Boxster / something caterhamesque. Just no idea what I'm looking at really.
