now that looks fun! smile

When the article said 208 bhp INCREASE I thought it must be a typo - that is a proper power hike! - I wonder if it has 80's style turbo lag or if they have done something clever to get around that? Variable vane turbo?

Quite frankly, I would care if it hit 60 in 2 seconds and 200mph. It's still a Volvo. Sorry.

What's even the point? Noone would buy this. The "enthusiasts" who look past brand image are all poorfags anyway.

Indeed....what Polestar did to the C30 got serious praise from the press, so why should this be any different?
Added to the fact that aside from the Alfa 159 this comes in very close for the best looking current 3 box C segment piece of car design.

Volvo are known for their design quality at least as much as for their 'boxy' status...

Releasing something like this as a halo would do wonders for them in the company car park I think...

Seems like a cracking effort from Volvo on stats alone.

Hopefully it will take the fight to ze Germans (even if we all know deep down it won't).

I'm more than happy with my performance Volvo - people who knock 'em probably have never driven one. Lovely car - now make an estate version and I'm in!!

I would buy it, if it drives well and the price is not exorbitant (although I doubt it'll be cheaper than a M3). The use of the V6 rather than the Yamaha V8 bodes well for production (there would certainly be very limited numbers otherwise).

Fingers crossed...

IMO this looks absolutely corking. How can people on here seriously be complaining about a tidy-looking saloon with 500hp and a manual gearbox, when they've not even _seen_ it yet? I dunno, call yourself petrolheads...

Do you try and start an argument in all your posts?

fantastic, looks great. I'd have one in a heartbeat (if I had that sort of money to spend on a car)

It would probably have to undercut a C63 by about 5k, though.

It has a Garrett 3171, but I can't find a turbo from Garrett with that designation.

Now there's a Volvo I'd consider...

That looks absolutely superb, much sleeker than any current BMW/Audi. As long as they've changed the 4WD system enough to give it some rearward bias it sounds like a stonking package.
