I think there could be a market (albeit limited) for the C30 and this version.
I believe the C30 is no longer in production? Could be wrong.Anyway, a very nice take on an already handsome car, I do hope it encourages Volvo to bring in a model similar to the S60R of old (which had 300bhp, Haldex 4WD) - would be too much to ask for it to handle as well?

What's even the point? Noone would buy this. The "enthusiasts" who look past brand image are all poorfags anyway.
The door is over there. Fair enough having an opinion, but expressing it the way you did is frankly stupid. Prat. I think a fair amount of us would have, or at least be interested in, a quick car even if it had Perodua badges. Triumph Man said:

Even better if it did Can't beat a sleeper.

Quite frankly, I would care if it hit 60 in 2 seconds and 200mph. It's still a Volvo. Sorry.
Christ. Two members who have been here a long time, yet both seem to have the Youtube disease of nasty comment = cool kid.
If neither of you can look past a badge prejudice then perhaps a 'driving enthusiasts' website is not for you and instead you should scurry off to whatever one make fanboy forum you usually inhabit.

I think if you should name a one thing that makes M-cars great, it is their ability to go sideways with perfect control.
I'd disagree, mainly because the lesser 3-Series examples can all do that too, just with less power to play with. It's not something the M-cars do and the non-M don't.Added to that I reckon less than 1% of M3s sold ever experience deliberate powersliding under perfect control.

How relevant is that to the majority of people who want a fast but practical car? Audi have managed to do well with the RS Brand that all have four driven wheels, and I'd imagine some of those cars were sold BECAUSE they don't go sideways and are much more predictable cross country than a RWD for the average driver. 'Potential' surely lol. It's the driver who has the 'ability' - or not in some cases! Even a MK1 ClioV6 can "go sideways with perfect control" with the right wheelman at the helm.I take my hat off to Volvo for giving this a go.
The old S60 / V70R were a great left field choice, they never troubled Ze Germans in sales volume, or indeed outright handling / power, but those that knew what they were looking at gave them a fair bit of respect and they still command a certain amount of kudos.
Doubtful it would ever be a big seller, but if I had the funds and was looking at an RS4 / M3 / AMG this would certainly be looked at as well - to heck with any badge snobbery, not everyone wants to shout about their purchase. Choose a subtle colour and it makes a cracking sleeper. Besides, if Volvo are sensible they will price this accordingly, to compensate for any badge issues.
Pretty sure that it will handle the power too, by all accounts the S60 has a pretty well sorted chassis to begin with ( the handling always seemed to be the Achilles heel of the old R’s ), so it should stand a better chance of giving them a closer run this time around.
