6 services in 15 years. No thanks.
But probably done according to the indicators.....Wouldn't bother me particularly. What horrific damage will have been caused by going 6k between oil changes? I'll tell you - none. Even with 2.5k a year travelled - that's enough to keep everything lubricated.
Feeling strong of stomach gents? Enjoy this old interview with Tom Hartley...in the sauna.

Any advice on what to look for, common faults of this age etc. Have done a load of research already just incase I've missed anything! Seems a cracking colour combo, described history seems good. And looks ace in pictures. With long T&T if I can knock a few hundred quid off the asking price, run it until the bork kicks in. Sell valuable bits and scrap. Can't go too wrong?
Cheers, EM
Adore the grey. Not such a fan of the interior. The checks are for the latest tensioners, and something to do with the throttle I can't remember. And rust.http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/jagu...

As for the electronic gate/garage control, as you mention mine doesn't have it. It seems to be one of the rarest options (along with the ski hatch, which mine has and I'll probably never use). That is some seriously cool technology though.
A very common option on American market cars from relatively boggo ones upwards, living in a gated community is a lot more common in the US. Quite surprising to see it on a UK car.Ben

My Bro lives in Canada where garages/openers are common - saves you getting out of the car when it's -20 outside. In Toronto there is an underground network so he can walk to his office from the station without having to go up into the streets.Zwolf said:
You need to get into Volvo, where the Winter Pack is a legal necessity, from base models up.
Yep, I always thought heated seats where frippery gayness until I had Leather with Winter Pack on my S60, now it's something I'd look for.Zwolf said:
Still, we must remember that in this thread we are discussing cars that can be bought for the same prices as many of their first owners paid for an item or two of gadgetry...
Audi have been running some heavily optioned Press cars of late (£80K A6 anyone?) and a few mags/papers have run features on them along the lines of cost of options, usefulness and return at re-sale.For the price of leather seats in an A6, I got heated, electric leather seats together with a free E39.

How about a sporty conservatory for £3400? top of steering wheel looks excessively worn, but rest doesn't look too bad from what you can see in the photos. Ok, not the most exciting engine, but for all you E39 lovers....

Walk the dog past that car occasionally and it does look pretty smart, worth every penny if you ask me...desperately trying to talk up the values of e39 sport tourings...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-BMW-520-I-SPORT-TOU...

I love the S Class but as much as I try to like that interior, the only word that comes to mind is 'gash'.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-MERCEDES-S320-AUTO-...
It's the colours more than anything else.

I'm not much of a twitterer but when i've been on for a browse TH Jnr and his brother don't come across particularly well. Sadly I'm not in the market for cars that cost a couple of hundred grand but if I was i'm not sure i'd buy from them.

Wait until a couple of days before the end of the month and offer him £1,500 for it, I think... From the advert:

I emailed that 750 owner and he couldn't provide any history for the car. Apparently the previous owner was a garage owner and didn't log any work. Spidey senses tingled at that.
Apart from that, the seller sounded like a genuinely nice chap and very honest. I just can't afford to get something like that and for it to fall apart the next day

Cheers, EM
