Sunday off, lie-in and breakfast had, idly browsing AT for a runabout E36 as I miss having one around. Started well, but *somehow* I ended up finding this:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2012...

It'll be a mutt won't it? Here's me thinking I could even live with the fake M Paras.

The bad points are:

  • Airbag light stays on (dealer believes this is due to wiring within electric seats, but can only confirm upon inspection)
  • Tyres will need replacing soon.
  • Satnav thinks its in Germany (dealer believes this is a loose aerial cable)
Mileage is on 150186 at the time of photo (24 Sept 2012) Serious offers considered. MOT expires April 2013. 6 Months Tax remaining.

Of all the places to photograph your car for sale why pick a dark multistory carpark?!

Usually I'd agree but perhaps he's aiming for the Bond fanboys?

Sure it won't be quick, but no Quattro worries and better fuel consumption are appealing.

That and the fact it looks fantastic.
Had a 1997 version 2.8 and it did not even have heated front seats! smile

But what a car!!!

Shifted quite well and 3k rpm in top gives 100 on the clock!

Sold it a couple of years ago at 175,000 miles for £1k, still running very well to a lad (22) who wanted it to cruise around Europe in it. He liked it so much he still has it and loves to tell the story of being pulled by the Dutch Coppers who thought someone so young must have stolen it!

Given he makes no mention of that in his advert one can only think that might be wishful thinking tongue out

Have we done this one? Looks suspiciously cheap for the mileage.

If he's going to do it properly I want to see a picture of it mid flight/landing and one of it embedded in an Avis rental office hehe

That's what I thought. And no mention of any service history.

Cheers. I'll get a quick quote up.

The seller has told me he bought it brand new 13 years ago and it isn't an import.
I got mine new too through David Hendry, (from Nippon via Cyprus), been known to be wrong before smile but the twin turbo GTB with bilstein suspension was grey I'm pretty darned sure. Not quite as quick as a JDM WRX but smoother, better geared for the motorway and plenty of room. Good luck with it anyway!

4.7 mpg on the instantaneous readout at the limiter with one's foot in the carpet in a '50...

The E32 can be made to just read dashes when "pressing on".

Another scam?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-BMW-745-I-AUTO-BLUE...

I know these are losing a load of money but this seems TOO cheap and the seller has zero feedback...

That money is for a ropey / v car E65 of that vintage. This car being presented well in the pics and no detail in the ad suggests something untoward.

There is presumably a reason why its much cheaper than the others - its only just over 100k too.

Because the sat nav thinks it's in Germany. So perhaps parking it in a multistorey car park stops the signal?

Does the radio work if the sat nav is on?

It is conspicuously inexpensive for what it purports to be if it's not concealing massive bork.
