(could also appear on the good plates thread for the very childish amongst us)

V6 TDI Passat?

Yep. 150-180 PS with either a 6-speed manual or 5-speed ZF 5HP19 auto. Optional 4MOTION too.

Was the duck being surprised from behind tying in with the registration plate? hehe

Hammond reviewed the Passat V6 TDI on Men & Motors (yes, the review is bloody awful! God knows how he ended up on Top Gear...)

A perfect example of the result of trying to design by committee.

Ford Territory (Aus) used the 2.7 AJD-V6 (190 PS):
Its hard to believe that isn't related in some way to Land Rover. Googling suggests it isn't.

I could see something like that being a decent seller in the UK and if they did LHD the rest of the EU.
The diesel came relatively late in the piece and I think the Ford Australia local manufacturing death knell had been signed by then. Some did get exported to Thailand of all places. Australia has a free trade agreement with Thailand so there's no import duty on Thai built cars but for Australian built cars to Thailand there's something like a 100% import duty. It's strange that they didn't send a few of the derve equipped models over to the UK - steering wheel on the correct side, your own engine powering, available in 2WD and 4WD.....

Most Terri's produced over its life have the straight 6 petrol donk. Sporty versions had a turbo.

Saw something I hadn't seen before last night, turned out it was a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. Quite smart from the front, horrendously ugly at the back, almost reminds me of the back of a Pontiac Aztek .

Nope - The Tezza never had a V8. The Turbo with some more boost is hilariously quick:

Back is OK, the front looks like a spilt knife drawer.

Isn’t that what became the new c43 amg, or am I thinking of the c450? Got quickly unveiled then shelved iirc.

That was the C450. You can get an E400 Coupe in the UK, parts of Europe and the states get E400 saloon/estate as well
