Yes. The wheel rims fit around them, rather than behind them.

The Dacon 828, a microcar designed to loosley mimic the Porsche 928.

Some info here https://www.vwheritage.com/blog/2016/03/11/what-is...

A Flickr contact recently spotted one, which made me aware. Like it.

It's got four wheels, so yes it's practically identical.

maybe squint slightly and see if it comes into focus
- it says 'Subsequent cars had more conventional 13in alloys, similar in design to the Porsche 944 '

Not sure what you are all talking about, it's clearly a SWB 928 created for rallying just like the Quattro. Look at the wheels, clearly genuine Porch wheels.

It might have had a small crash at the front though...

An easy mistake to make - they obviously mean the 924 as that had 4-stud wheels whereas the 944 had 5-studs.

Yep, I'd have one, truck lights at an angle to look like 928 lights is genius tongue out . The link says it has a 1600 Beetle engine, so about 40bhp?

I'd want to get something very silly done to it though, something like Jonny Smith's Flux Capacitor EV drag car hehe

I was flicking through the tv channels after Saturday's football and came across the show 'Rosemary and Thyme' in which, I believe, Felicity Kendal plays a crime solving gardener. They were in Italy and were pottering around in what looked like a 4-wheeled version of the classic 'Ape van' that every visitor to Italy has seen, a quick google shows that's exactly what it was.

A Piaggio Ape Porter:

I'm sure I saw those with James May on one of his shows. Fantastically simple and easy to maintain.

That is absolute genius. It looks like one of those caricature pictures of cars, you'd just need to fit stanced 24" wheels!

A Piaggio Ape Porter:

that's odd
the later Porter is a badge-engineered Daihatsu HiJet, available as a van or a pickup, lots of them still about in Europe
they did a passenger van which was badged as an Innocenti Porter

A Piaggio Ape is on my lottery wish list for when I retire abroad. I only recently realised that they are pronounced ‘Apay’ rather than Ape as in monkey.

I've been looking in to these for a while, with the coffee machine conversion on the back. Basically just a scooter with a body stuck on it. But some of the prices are eye watering.

It’s highely likely this is already on here...or probably more likely I’m just out of touch with current cars...I saw an MG ZS which looks like a Renault Kadjar from the back.

I honestly thought the brand had died a quite death! I know they had a hatchback and Mondeo sized something or other...
