Fiat Qubo. Passed one today.
Really didn't know they existed ? I'm surprised they have been around about 7 years , rebadged as Peugeot and Citroen also available as van. See loads used by car part places.

I bring you the Datsun Go. Recently launched in India and firmly aimed at the budget end of the market (think a cost-reduced Dacia with all the safety features removed)

Full road test here, not coming to a dealer near you any time soon (assuming you live in Western Europe)

Is it just me that thinks we need more basic stuff like this on our roads, modern, low cost motoring without a ton of crap weighing them down. Probably quite eco friendly as well with no resources wasted on useless gadgets.
I'm working on a new car for India. We have benchmarked some in-market leaders. They are NCAP 0 rated. We have been advised to not even drive them on UK roads.

It's a nice idea, but in practice, it won't work. We have the 'crap' for a reason.
I can see the attraction for the Indian market though. Especially when compared to the hordes of Bedford Rascal-alikes they have over there.

The reality is that a 0 NCAP is safer than this

Ex Nissan big cheese and current Aston big cheese Andy Palmer tried to justify zero stars using the analogy above and got quite hammered for it.

Largely irrelevant as those 6 individuals wouldn't even fit into today's modern cars. the reality is that they would still stuff 4 kids in the back without any restraint and have two on the front passenger's lap. Safety only works if people comply.

Cord is a particularly famous car of the era though.

It's also a bit late for The Great Gatsby wink

I also saw a Mk2 Clio saloon, it really wasn't a nice looking thing. Pleased it wasn't sold over here!

I spotted one of these in Stowmarket today, on a Turkish 'plate

I saw a Toyota Caldia GT four the other day on the London north circular road.

It was obviously a JDM import, sort of Auris sized estate car.

I'll post the pic when I can.

The Caldina was originally just a rebadged Carina/Avensis wagon, until the third generation when it became more MPV-like, according to Wikipedia.

In Fiat guise, yep. I guess the Berlingo is the Citroen version but never seen the Fiat before.

I think it was the mix of Rover Metro and Saab 900 that was the problem, not the Saab 900!

Lloyd? one for sale near me £1500.
Apparently they made @300000 units.
Never heard of them. Trabantesque.

Also sold as the Citroen C-Elysee, but only in developing markets and Eastern Europe (might also be available in Spain and Portugal). You see loads of them in Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and so on, it's slightly more expensive than a Dacia Logan but a lot nicer too.
