The Fluence is a Megane saloon, they were sold in mainland Europe with petrol and diesel engines. And as stated, they're cheap because a) you're tied to a batter lease and b) it's a Megane saloon.

They're comfy to drive though. Other than that I can't think of any redeeming features...
They are also more oddly proportioned than the ICE Fluence as the boot is bigger due to the batteries being in there.

A few week back I caught a before my time edition of Top of the Pops, featuring the music video to Wings of Dove by Madness, where the band incorporated stock footage of an Iveco Daily failing from the sky. This prompted a visit to the Wikipedia page, only to discover a badge engineered version was sold as the Alfa Romeo AR8:

Somebody must have been reading this as it's just been requested on Radio 2. Watched the video, hadn't seen it for years. I didn't realise it was done so cheap with stock footage, I also thought the van was a Talbot Express especially for the video - how wrong I was!

At least two built, both mid engine, one transverse and one inline. Currently in Germany and regularly appear at classic events.

2 matt black cars attended the Eifel Historic Rallye festival last year.

I had no idea they existed till I saw them there.

I was astounded to see 1, then a 2nd came along......yikes

I have pics on the phone, also another car at this event was the 1 0f 1 Audi GP S car that they let Walter Rohrl drive.

It was a MK2 Transit when they clambered into the back of it!

The German authorities are very accommodating on this; you can actually choose to have your own initials etc in the random letters section. At no charge!!

You can't change things like the local registration, which to me makes it totally pointless. I've never seen the point in crap personalised plates - if I was going to get one, I think it'd have to be exactly right

Small charge anyway, you can choose the letters and the numbers, just the first bit is your town, and that bit is naturally separated from the rest by the little stickers (tuv and state crest)

Sadly not one of their highlights due to unreliability of injectors and turbos.
However it helped pave the way for the recent generation of super-diesels.

Despite being LHD-only, a handful ended up in the UK.
