It's a second generation Delta HPE, think the Dedra came first.
Dedra was based on the Fiat Tipo / Tempra wasn't it?

Don't know if this counts as actually an engine I didn't know existed, was behind a BMW 114d today. Must be so slow, has 90bhp, BMW seem to no longer sell it.

Lexus IS Sportcross

I bloody wish they'd do a modern version with the IS300h. Sadly they won't with the NX on sale.

Fiat Idea

Looked small, about the size of a Picanto, wonder why it never caught on

This was Fiat's, Renault Modus or Vauxhall Meriva; IIRC it was quite expensive, hence why it was a flop.

They offer a 2 series Active or Grand Tourer with a '14d' engine in Europe, with a 95 BHP three cylinder diesel. I guess it's not fast, but we managed for ages with 1.9 TDI engines pumping out 90BHP in all kinds of mainstream stuff so I guess it's adequate.

Looks like a Dedra to me too although a quick reg check has it listed as a Lancia HPE 2000 so now I'm confused. Was the Dedra based on the Delta?
Its a complete hodge podge of stuff. Engine is Lancia 16v Turbo, many panels including interior bits are Dedra, exhaust and brakes all pair with Fiat Coupe. amongst others.

Its correct name is Lancia Delta HPE HF Turbo. So I can kind of see why its listed as HPE 2000. Makes insuring it fun.

Actually... I fancy a Volvo 360 reboot. A 480 reboot might be pretty neat too.
The C30 was sort of a 480 reboot? The 480 itself being a semi P1800es reboot!

Anyway my parents and grandparents had several Volvo 340s between them when I was younger (actually I count a total of 6!) so I have a weird soft spot too - 360 GLT only though!

Ooo, no. 360 GLS is my dreamboat, same 2.0 redblock. GLT far too boy racer.

Lancia Delta. No frills looks wise but has Intergrale Evo engine through the front wheels.
Looks a bit like a dedra to me.

I suspect the reg has been transferred, the HPE is nothing to do with this model of Delta which was quite popular abroad but was (IIRC) never officially imported into the UK. There was a yellow 'integrale spec' one for sale for ages for a small amount of money, last year or so. Quite cool, really.
Dedra was the saloon version of this 2nd gen Delta, all on the Tipo floorpan

that there is an HPE version too, that's the name of this special 3 door version, wide arches etc

I was in Poland over the weekend and saw a Fiat Linea. Quick google suggests it was launched in India.

I also saw the Renault Fluence

the Renault Fluence was the launch platform for Renault's ZE cars, they were on sale only until a couple of years ago

It's a Ford Transit, but it's the American one, which comes as standard with a 3.7 V6 petrol engine, which I never knew

I had an orange one - I thought (at the time) it was a ficticious car - never realised until many years later there was a real one...

Madness isn't it. There are perfectly useful and far more economical European diesel versions. Is fuel that cheap that they just don't care?

Yup, for a similar example look at the Ram ProMaster. Also, 3.X litre V6 engines are so cheap in the USA that a 2.0 diesel would sell at a higher price, while most customers would consider it inadequately small and underpowered.
