Saw a Mercedes Citan Tourer today in minehead never seen one before. Had to google it to find what it was.
Basically a Renault Kangoo with a Merc badge on I think. I have seen the van versions about but the ones with seats in the back are rare. Edited by scoobygaz1 on Sunday 30th July 19:03

You have to really wonder about the US car industry. There would have been significant faffing about to morph the Elgrand into that Quest given that the Elgrand is a right hand drive, Japan only thing. Nissan also make that awful Murano convertible, of which they sold a handful (6000 over the three years it was in production). Yet Cadillac stopped producing that SRX a few posts back due to low sales - it was selling 50,000 units per year for a couple of years and probably just needed a bit of a rework to regain those lost sales.
I suspect a lot of the involvement in killing the SRX was inexplicable GM internal politics and endless restructuring though Rather than the American car market, I'd say it's GM and Nissan that make no sense in your examples
GM seems to mess up a lot of open goals while Nissan produces a lot of market specific vehicles that would seem to make no sense to an outsider. They have their reasons, I'm sure!
I suppose they're trying (hopefully succeeding) to do what works for them
The first one was the large-ish three-row crossover seen a few pages back, built on the rear-drive Sigma platform and produced from 2004-09.
The second-generation SRX shifted downwards into a completely different size class. Whereas the old one was about the size of an Audi Q7, the new model was now a two-row crossover, much closer in size to an Audi Q5 and based on the front-drive GM Theta platform. I suspect GM saw greater sales opportunities in this segment but wanted to retain the SRX's name recognition in North America. This model was produced from 2010-16.
However, Cadillac's alphanumeric naming scheme has recently undergone a complete revamp, just to confuse existing customers. The latest 2017 model is now known as the Cadillac XT5 and is similarly proportioned to the second generation SRX. This one is based on GM's front-drive Epsilon platform.
