that's the perfect car for anyone resolutely refusing to come out of the closet. Total overcompensation!!

Maybach S650 ?

Having a look on AT to see what the Facelift S-Coupe and I see this!

Since when did this exist and How on Earth is this 313 grand? Looks no different to a standard S500 apart from the chrome, badges & wheels, what’s Mercedes thinking?

and even worse than what you've said, it actually looks no more special than a £25k sport spec E-class coupe!
Aside from the fact that, in the flesh, it doesn't, the unassuming look is what their target customer wants.

On the subject of those tiny crossover city cars, Kia have just launched the Picanto X Line and I have to say it doesn't look half bad.
I agree. It looks all bad!

Unassuming? They're as tasteful as Liberace's bungalow.

The mere fact the poster said they would get taken for it'a £25k sibling suggests otherwise.

What other £300k car looks 'normal'? The Saloons are even more so.

We've just come back from New York, our hotel had a new Maybach saloon. You have to double take to see it isn't an S-Class....until you step inside where it's a different world. That is what MB wants for the Maybach brand.

it used to be a different car range, now it's an S-Class spec level.

Yes (ish), and having been in both, the current incarnation suits it better....and make far more commercial sense I don't doubt.

Not just S-Class but luxury versions of other models too.

Saw one of these the other day in Majorca while sitting down for some dinner. Nearly put me off my food. Ssangyong's idea of what an X6 should look like...

Worked out pretty well they sold out as soon as they were announced, maybe there a market for a Liberace revival?

To be fair, something on the bottom of my shoe is better than what an X6 looks like.

That might be the nicest thing I've seen in this section, very lovely.

nono

He didn't show its 'best' angle....

In the Actyon's defence, the above is a very old model which was improved somewhat by a facelift, and then replaced entirely with something altogether less offensive.

Looks like a mashup of a Triumph GT6 and a Lancia Beta.

This is a thing of beauty and epitomises what this thread is about.
Not some run of the mill car with an unusual engine/transmission variant but rare works of art.

Thanks for posting it.

Not just me then!! It literally makes my skin crawl!
It's grim, isn't it?
That grill didn't really set me off, but I too suffer from this.
