It's fat and wide in the body, but not the 'glasshouse' which narrows in a lot and it's tall with no extra ground clearance, low profile tyres, no more load space than any other 5 door hatch
Very practical, these SUVs

Why do manufacturers do that and not let you access everything through the SID
Assuming the BLS has a SID or is it a CID

Sorry saaby, I don't know what an SID or CID is. Can you enlighten Hard-Of-Thinking me? wink

(I can do some fiddling about with oily bits but electrics are not my strong point.)

Saab information display

It allows you to set some of the feaures in the car and has so many warning messages you'll never see them all
But what it wont let you do is read diag fault codes or reset or clear many things - you need the Tek tool for that
I cant see the Chevvy equivalent in that pic

There's been a bit of chat on the awkward design details thread about the Citroen XM. Looking around for pictures of the boot, this came up, it's a few different versions of the XM as a 4 door saloon. They all got as far as design concepts or a few made as French presidential cars.

Phwoar. A subtle but effective change.

those 4 door saloon XM edits are very clearly the inspiration for the Xantia.

I like that one too. The XM is all straight edges, I was wondering whether a trademark Citroen concave rear window would work on it.

That unit didn't come in any Saab by the time the BLS came out, as far as I'm aware. That thing just looks like Saab's version of Opel's display

Whatever is in the facelift 93 is what the BLS has

Any more info on this Tech2 clone? Is it like the fake Vagcom cables of VAG cars?
I'm not familiar, but probably.

There are various things available, I don't pretend to be an expert but they range from fake cables with pirate software that work for a bit of fault clearing (or may not work at all) to full hardware clones of the Tech 2 machine that look identical and work fully. I'd rather not make recommendations as I don't know much, I don't want to recommend fake equipment on someone else's website and there are loads of threads and articles out there already reviewing and discussing the types, with contributors who know better than I

Every day's a school day. thumbup

Though like Jimmy Recard said above, I'm pretty sure there's nothing like that in the BLS cabin.

Yes he's right - my mistake
SID is SAAB to 2003, then the GM plus versions appeared that are the same as the BLS

I could never take a car seriously that was named after a bacon and lettuce sandwich.
