I'm sure we all remember the American market SAAB 9-2 (rebodied Impreza) and 9-7 (some big SUV - which I actually saw one of on my last American holiday), but who knew there was also a SAAB 9-4 based on the Cadillac SRX:

Wikipedia suggests they built around 650 of them before SAAB went down the dumper.

An article in The Autocar ( https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/saab/9-4x ) suggests it was planned to sell it in Europe.
I'd have bought one

From memory, the S32 was a one off from some guy that tuned his S320 from 190bhp to 210 or similar. I think it is now a taxi?

There was also rumours of someone that put the engine from a C32 into an S-Class, but I'm not sure if it ever saw the light of day.

But there was no AMG S32....you've either seen a very rare car/taxi, or just someone who has taken a chisel to the '0' of their S320 wink

1964 AC Cobra 427 by Ghia...

It was actually a Ghia body from a scrap Fiat 8V that John Willment fitted to a spare Cobra chassis.
Thanks - I didn't know that wink
C&SC have run article about it a few times. Apparently it was very scary at speed when first cobbled together. It was underdeveloped at the time but I think I remember reading that work had been done to make it more driveable in the last 10 years or so...

HTH. I remember it being advertised for sale in Motor Sport (for quite a while!) many years ago. Ghia called it the Supersonic.

In fairness, Merc 6-cyl engines of that era did sound nice, not as nice as the venerable BMW straight-six, but still nice.

Was looking at original Dodge Vipers and learned of this

Bitter GT1

From Wiki...

"Former factory driver Mike Hezemans of the Netherlands, feeling that the Elise GT1's main faults were in its power and aerodynamics, decided that the car should not be abandoned and convinced his father Toine Hezemans to provide financial help in his project. The pair bought two former Elise GT1 chassis abandoned by the factory along with their inventory of parts. Hezemans and his small team consisting of chief mechanic Hans Willemsen and two mechanics, Peter Classen and Mario Van beek, set out to eliminate the known faults in the car. They took the chassis to the Netherlands and in their small workshop, the car was extensively reworked. The front end was made longer and smoother in an attempt to increase front downforce. To replace the Elise GT1's Chevrolet V8, Hezemans turned to Chrysler, buying a pair of 356-T6 8.0L V10 engines having a power output of 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp) and 800 N⋅m (590 lb⋅ft) of torque, which were being used in Chrysler's GT2 class racing cars. The engine was fitted in the car by extending the chassis. The Hewland gearbox was retained as the team had a small budget. The new cars were promised to compete in the 1998 FIA GT Championship season. In order to make the cars compliant to the regulations of the FIA, Hezemans turned to his friend Erich Bitter who was an independent German car manufacturer. He agreed to give the cars his firm's name and the car were named Bitter GT1s."

Not to mention Peugeot 406 rear lights

Found out about this while looking that one up also...

The body style was called Supersonic. Most were built on Fiat Otto Vu (8V) chassis...

I saw one of these on Kurfurstendamm in Berlin in February 2016; finished in a non-flattering colour. It certainly looked different.

....oh sweet mother of Jesus. I suppose it takes skill to take a mass-production car and spend a fortune making it look like a abortioned Chinese copy.

Would this have been the engine that the Rolls Royce V16's were based on that were planned for the Phantom?
One of the prototype engine workshops in BMW Munich have a V16 block as the basis for the most awesome coat rack I've ever seen.
