1964 AC Cobra 427 by Ghia...

It was actually a Ghia body from a scrap Fiat 8V that John Willment fitted to a spare Cobra chassis.
Thanks - I didn't know that wink
HTH. I remember it being advertised for sale in Motor Sport (for quite a while!) many years ago. Ghia called it the Supersonic.
I'm looking at the photo again picturing a small Alfa Romeo grille on it, it wouldn't look out of place at all!

Just found this...

Bitter GT1

From Wiki...

"Former factory driver Mike Hezemans of the Netherlands, feeling that the Elise GT1's main faults were in its power and aerodynamics, decided that the car should not be abandoned and convinced his father Toine Hezemans to provide financial help in his project. The pair bought two former Elise GT1 chassis abandoned by the factory along with their inventory of parts. Hezemans and his small team consisting of chief mechanic Hans Willemsen and two mechanics, Peter Classen and Mario Van beek, set out to eliminate the known faults in the car. They took the chassis to the Netherlands and in their small workshop, the car was extensively reworked. The front end was made longer and smoother in an attempt to increase front downforce. To replace the Elise GT1's Chevrolet V8, Hezemans turned to Chrysler, buying a pair of 356-T6 8.0L V10 engines having a power output of 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp) and 800 N?m (590 lb?ft) of torque, which were being used in Chrysler's GT2 class racing cars. The engine was fitted in the car by extending the chassis. The Hewland gearbox was retained as the team had a small budget. The new cars were promised to compete in the 1998 FIA GT Championship season. In order to make the cars compliant to the regulations of the FIA, Hezemans turned to his friend Erich Bitter who was an independent German car manufacturer. He agreed to give the cars his firm's name and the car were named Bitter GT1s."

Not to mention Peugeot 406 rear lights

Was first for sale in 2015 (I think), appears to still be if anyone fancies it.

Looks like you also remember when it was mostly fields round here. I've got a vague recollection of reading (in Rod Leach's 'Nostalgia'adverts?) that there were two bodies swapped onto Cobra chassis. Seeing how rare they were in the first place this seems unlikely now; am I misremembering this?

yes
My Dad owned a Citroen dealership back then, so yes I remember it too!
My dad had one for a couple days on a test drive and hated it, bought a Saab 9-5 instead.

My gran's cousin actually bought one brand new in the same colour as the one in the picture posted. She only recently replaced it so there is a 1 owner pretty much immaculate one floating around having been part ex'd at a Kia dealer in the Midlands.

On a different note that Honda Beat with a hardtop is super cool!

A Ford Falcon and Ford-based Falcon Kit Car are two different things. smile

That's why I said "Ford Falcon MK2 kit car", not "Ford Falcon"

That's my point. It's not a Ford Falcon Mk2 Kit Car.

Love that. It's like a Scirocco, a Princess and an Esprit jumped into the Fly pod.

Not a car I didn't know existed but a model I didn't know existed. I was behind a Freelander with the the roof down. I didn't know they had a removable roof, I knew the back window could go down electronically, but this was news to me.

A neighbour had one of these with the V6 engine about 17 years ago. Great fun in summer, but woeful on fuel all year round.

Ex-wife had one from about 1997. Only the 1.8. Fund thing, but major PIA to remove the roof. I think we only did it once.

Very similar to an Autotune Gemini, which you can (I think) still buy, however the donor parts may take some sourcing

This one I actually like the look of, the CD2

It looks like a Calibra with a load of bits cut out and swapped with FIAT Coupe bits.

The interior on the Adam is hilariously bad, but probably quite good at hiding Mochaccino stains.

I'll let you decide on the interior for yourself

Well all I can say is it's impressive that they managed to find an interior that was more minging than the exterior! laugh
