Not just a car, but an entire brand / marque I didn't know existed - Statesman:

Statesman DeVille

Statesman Caprice

I know they were built by Holden, but they weren't badged as Holdens at all.
Errr.. no, I’ve lived here my whole life (except when I lived in the UK for a few years at different stages). The statesman is (was) a Holden, no ifs or buts about it. They may have tried to market it a different marque but it was just a stretched Kingswood. Can’t fool us, fairdinkum. They gave up pretending not long after. Actually Holden has given up pretending completely now, which is a good thing as the Kingswood was the last decent product (handbags!!)

There was a Ford equivalent called the Fairlane LTD, no doubt driven by Bargearse
(look him up)
(My mistake, it’s a Valiant ... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hCdi08dAVGU

Only redeeming feature of these vehicles was the engine, they always got the biggest v8’s
The Statesman was part of the Kingswood era (money on the fridge)

The sad thing is that I’ve not seen a Daf in the metal in the Netherlands for decades. Maybe I’m in the wrong places but I’ve covered a lot of ground there over the years.
I got the impression - albeit from the web - that they had a bit of a cult following in NL. That sad, I can't recal seeing any there.
There's loads in the Daf Museum in Eindhoven, plus lots of big trucks too!

My Dad had a Kingswood estate as a company car. He loathed it and was first in the queue to exchange it for a Datsun Bluebird/180B when they were put on the list

To be fair, this was 1970’s India, so the unreliability and lack of support of the Holden was a major issue.

He is a bit 'nazal' perhaps but his reviews are very good.

It does rather look like Pininfarina did the front half and Michelotti did the back half!
