2 wheel drive older shape RAV-4 (2001-2005 shape).
I had no idea of this till I took one for a drive and it had wheel spin as soon as I left the woman's drive - was not expecting that.
A quick look underneath - the damn thing is only front wheel drive - what is the point of these things?
I'd guess this was one of the first non 4wd SUV things so chosen purely for 'the look'.
What's the point of 4x4 when you only drive on tarmac?I had no idea of this till I took one for a drive and it had wheel spin as soon as I left the woman's drive - was not expecting that.

I'll keep my 959 for the Paris Dakar though

Do you lot get the Toyota Highlander in front wheel drive only? That's a leviathan which some markets (i.e. Australia) get as a front-wheel drive only version. Loved by appliance drivers who want to project their stature and status but as cheaply as possible, would give way to cows but not children type of thing. I would not want to be on the wrong side of one on a wet and cold day as its balding cheapo tyres are completely overcome by nearly two-tonnes of Toyotas' finest.I had no idea of this till I took one for a drive and it had wheel spin as soon as I left the woman's drive - was not expecting that.

I don't know about the Citroen, but IIRC the Rotary NSU RO80 had a semi, auto, unusual type of gearbox.
This may have it´s origin in the joint venture of "Comotor" between NSU and Citroen,as stated in this wiki : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comotor
In this article, there is also the M35 featured ( click on link ), another car I never heard of.
The Comotor engine was used in the 38 Van Veen OCR 1000 bikes, which are collectables now.
