All in 1.6L poverty spec, weird!
Perhaps they thought patriotic buyers or people happy with Fords may go for it over the Peugeot 504 and Citroen CX estates with three rows of seats?
It looks to be a successor to the Windsor, I suppose they had to use a Sierra as there wasn’t a Granada mk3 estate for a while. Think it was aimed at the business/ hotel/ airport transfer market

strictly speaking it's not a car, but its made by a car manufacturer.

VW make their own currywurst sausages and curry ketchup for their german workforce as it's cheaper than them buying it from elsewhere.

I simply couldn't believe that VW would actually manufacture these themselves, so searched the net and you're totally right! Not only that, but VW make more currywurst sausages a year than cars!!

The currywurst sausages are a "Volkswagen Original Part" and have been given the part number 199 398 500 A

You need cojones of tungsten to drive a Cheetah. While getting fried as well: your legs sit alongside the engine with the exhaust headers passing over them. eek
Had things panned out differently Thomas could have been the equivalent to GM as Shelby was to Ford.

Tatra 87. 'Suicide' front doors and air coooled V8 rear engine.

I passed on on the M54 a few months back.

Knew it was a Tatra soon as I saw it. Wife loved it.

it was been driven by a proper chap.

sausage are an official 'Originalteil' so in theory you can order them from any official VW dealer

sausage 199 398 500 A

in 2015 they sold 7.2 million of them, compared to 5.82 million cars

2015's sausages weighed about 850 tonnes, in that year they also sold 600 tonnes of ketchup

Sky had a show recently with Richard Hammond, "Big" I think it was called. In one of the episodes he spent time at a VW factory and the sausages were covered.

I am going to go to my local Volkswagen dealership and try to order them. This is brilliant!

Apparently you can hammer them into someone's lawn confident that if they break they are covered under the manufacturer's warranty. wink

But everybody knows the best about the Germans is the wurst biggrin?

They're quite good IMO (bit of a ritual to indulge when picking up a car at the factory) but needs the matching ketchup and ideally chips & mayo.

Will do. Not sure when it will be, it’ll be whenever I’m back at work as there’s a VW dealership just around the corner.

I’d they’ve gone to the trouble to give it a part number, it wouldn’t surprise me to find that you can get them sent to a dealership. Volkswagen is very clever with novel ideas and has a lot of attention to detail for them

From Wikki

"Volkswagen also sells utensils to go with the currywurst. One example is the plate, part number 33D 069 602

….Around 40% of Volkswagen currywurst production is consumed within restaurants at its six German factories; A portion is also sent to Volkswagen dealerships across Europe which use the currywurst as a present for customers who purchase new cars."

I so some installations in the VW WOB factory, but never had the chance to nip into the "Kantine" for a VW CW.

I was told the secret was in the recepy, as the curry is already included in the meat mix.

Quite. Presumably there is a detector that improves the pork to cereal mix to regulation proportions when Trading Standards come to test themsmile?
