Unfortunately, this hasn't been too well cared for. It is part of the Vauxhall Heritage collection and its probably a 20-yard car, but up close the ravages of time has not been quite so kind to it.

Very cool though, in my opinion.

AC 3000 ME, looks like a British Fiat x1/9.

And a prototype which used the above chassis as the base.

Lincoln Quicksilver.

But not bad looking for a car over 50 years old, that predated the Corvette C3.

There are, of course, many short lived marques from the early days of motoring.

One I learned of today was BNC, a French manufacturer whose name stood for Bollack, Netter &co.

("Just off for a spin in the Bollack" hehe )

Sure it ended up being manufactured in Scotland? Prototype was called Diablo believe it or not and designed by ex lola, I think, engineers in early seventies. Always liked them.

Yeah. In Hillington (of all places) for all of a year! AC Scotland developed an Alfa Busso engined version of the car just before they went bust.

Now that would have given the pedigree sound the shape deserved. The big Ford v6 was a bit of a bruiser.

The Diablo prototype was conceived by Peter Bohanna and Robin Stables.
Bohanna had worked for Ford AVO on the GT40 bodywork and subsequently at Lola on the T70.
Which is where he and Stables met up.

The Sierra was all well and good for your council house necrophiliacs, but those from the right side of town needed something a bit more sophisticated, and both Shultz and Binz converted Merc estates (including this 6 door monstrosity) and I think, still do....
