New ones for me today...

Fisker Latigo CS (based on a BMW 6 series (E63)):

Fisker Tramonto (Mercedes SL (R230)):

Fisker built 15 Tramonto's, and although they planned 150 Latigo CS's, they only built 2.

I'm going to ignore the fact that it's gopping and ask why the stickers on the side are back to front.
I saw a video on someone making this observation in japan (where the custom was done). He's an aussie guy who moved their years ago and has thousands of videos on all aspects of japan (link to his channel here. It's actually rather common occurance, even on the sides of commercial vehicles. On one side it will be the right way round, the other side it will be reversed, but will mirror the correct side.
I'm struggling to see the logic in that.

Whenever is the off-side of a van going to be in your mirror long enough for that to be a worthwhile effort?

One day, a long time ago, the decals may have somehow been flipped when they were getting printed. "here's the left hand ones and <click> here's the right hand ones...". As they're in English they didn't know what they were looking at, goes to person to stick on car and they bung them on stick-side on and the legend was born..........

There's a whole slew of Opels with names along these lines (Kadett, Kapitän, Admiral, Diplomat, Senator).
But not Kaiser or Fuhrer, oddly enough.

arr, thanks. So there is no 'logic' then - its just homage to a mistake.

Opel Kaiser is a dealer just outside Hamburg, owned by one Wilhelm Kaiser. You couldn't make it up.

Kaiser is German for emperor, so not unnatural it's still in use?

Perhaps not as a model name, but there was an entire company named Kaiser.

I'm thinking it has more to do with the aesthetics of balance and harmony, rather than readabilty, each side of the car perfectly matches and mirrors the other.

This pinged across the Japanese auction pages on facebook - never knew that Isuzu made such cars;

The "Isuzu Gemini Irmscher turbo had 4WD;

Seemed to have a fair old production run but was doomed when the Japanese recession in the 90's hit and the final iteration was a Rover 400 underneath frown

Looks a bit like a classic Subaru Impreza, if you described it down an especially poor phone line.
