I had no idea that an E28 Touring was even a thing.
Some cars look better as an estate, some look better as a saloon. I think the E28 sits firmly in the latter camp!
Apparently, someone had a 7 Series Touring coachbuilt. I'm not sure of the E number for this one.
I think this works better aesthetically.
The E28 and E23 Tourings are all aftermarket coachbuilder constructions and possibly a few homemade examples; there were a few different E28 examples at the BMW 100 Year Old celebrations in Munich a couple of years ago. Some cars look better as an estate, some look better as a saloon. Two UK market cars I've passed on the motorway in the last week, neither of which were known to me. I've been aware of most of the obscure Japanese market stuff in this thread already so I can only assume these are so boring they were barely featured in the motoring press here, which is why I missed their existence:
Chevrolet Orlando:
Ssangyong XLV:
I followed the XLV for quite a long time before I got close enough to read the badge. I had assumed it was some sort of recent MG until then.

There are a few of those xlv things around us - all seem to be taxi/private hire so I assume there is a specialist dealer somewhere.Ssangyong XLV:

Ford window switches were used in a lot of small volume cars (e.g. Aston DB7).
I saw something recently discussing Aston Martin's parts bin usage, when they used Ford parts none of their customers cared or even noticed as they weren't familiar with Fords but when Aston thought they were moving upmarket by using Volvo bits the customers noticed as they actually owned Volvos themselves or knew people who did...AstonZagato said:

Is there an award for a car part that's used on the most car types?
Do Metro mirrors come second?
BL/Austin Rover interior light Do Metro mirrors come second?
An Austin 7 based Ashley 750 Targa Florio, a car I've definitely never heard of until I came across this for sale ad just now.... what a nice looking thing it is....
