I like that... getmecoat

To be fair, I also am kind of fond of the Nissan Juke, and the Fiat Multipla.

I'll hand in my PH card, etc. wobble

Multipla is a good package with the 3 abreast seats ,shame about the comedy headlamps on the first 90s version ,not so keen on Jukes .

Is this oddball, modern Suzuki new to folks on this forum too?

It's been on this thread so many times, I assumed everyone knew about it by now.
Not me though and the first time I've ever engaged with this thread. Must try harder next time!

Although it has been posted before, I definitely think it's still worth a mention, plus it fits the thread title, it's a car YOU didn't know existed.

I'm not surprised it didn't take off here, a 4x4 Suzuki saloon with a 2.4 petrol engine with 176bhp that on paper isn't quick at all so not got sportiness going for it. So it's going to be expensive to tax, it likely won't be very good on fuel, and in 2012 everybody was starting to move from saloons to crossovers. But I do like it when an oddity like this gets released, a break from the norm.

It's very difficult to tell from the pictures how big it is, the side image here makes it look like a Swift sized saloon but I seem to remember from one I did see it's Mondeo size.

I'm sure it's mentioned everytime that Suzuki saloon pops up here, but it's the CVT gearbox that immediately discounts it from many people's shopping list. I might have bought one if it had a manual box, sort of cut-price Impreza.

And, then for those people who wouldn't care about the gearbox they'd think a 2.4 engine was too big.

And, no hatchback or estate version for people needing practicality.

And, a non-premium badge.

Jonny Smith of Fifth Gear fame tested one on his YouTube channel, apparently it’s now the only convertible you can buy with a VW badge.

And with the new Evoque being 5 door only for now, they don't make an Evoque convertible anymore. I don't know whether they're going to do an Evoque mk2 convertible.

Were they not 4WD as well?

Ford window switches were used in a lot of small volume cars (e.g. Aston DB7).
I saw something recently discussing Aston Martin's parts bin usage, when they used Ford parts none of their customers cared or even noticed as they weren't familiar with Fords but when Aston thought they were moving upmarket by using Volvo bits the customers noticed as they actually owned Volvos themselves or knew people who did...
I remember this story from a guy whos Aston Martin key got damaged and he found this...

My key's outside bit also peeled off to reveal the Volvo script, I kept it like that for years.

The key blade is Fords and isn't hidden by leather.

I'm not in the market for one and wouldn't want one but when I see one on the road I think the new Juke looks really good compared to all of it's competitors (And the old one!)

The Honda FR-V was far superior, also 3 abreast front seating.

Saw one of those at the weekend identical to that one, 'I didn't know they existed'... not sure why they exist either, seems like these German manufacturers keep inventing niche to fill.
