Bentley Dominator. I literally just learned of it's existence 10 minutes ago.
I'm sure I read in a car mag - CAR, or Autocar - that these were very poorly put together and the fit and finish were pretty rough. They had a sort of mini-review of the red one i think.

As someone else said, this pretty much kept Bentley in business thanks to mega cash for these little projects.
They were as crap as any hand-made bitsa with a single-figure production run is likely to be.

Individual bits: lovely

The whole: pants

I don't think the Bolkiah boys really gave much of a toss to be honest. The fun was in the buying, not the having and certainly not the using.

One for the "seriously overpriced" thread too.

I’m sure the PH editorial staff would be delighted to hear that you pay close attention to the articles on the front page of the website. wink

It's the forums I've got bookmarked, not the front page. I honestly don't remember the last time I looked at the front page.

Ssang Young Rodius has a younger, uglier brother - behold the Stavic. I've actually seen one on the street and wondered if blind people are allowed to drive.

Ladies and Gentlemen

the Toyota/Lexus parts bin special!

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202008252...

Looks like an LS400 with a sportier silhouette and frameless doors

this one appears to be made from parts of both a Toyota Windom and the Lexus ES300 it is closely related to. Lexus bonnet and boot but a toyota steering wheel and alloys.

2.5 V6 with ~185bhp and front wheel drive so a cheap drift monster this is not!

Looks like a bog standard Xsara. But it ain't!

"Citroën is opening a new avenue in automotive design at the Geneva 2000 Motor Show with the Xsara Windows CE, the first volume produced communicating car. A mid-range vehicle aimed at a broad public, the Xsara Windows CE is the result of a three-year partnership with Microsoft. It boasts an exceptional range of features and equipment, including several world firsts.

The first "Windows" car

The first communicating car equipped as standard with a dual-band GSM communication system and a colour navigation unit.

The first car to be equipped with a voice recognition system controlling operation of the information system.

The Xsara Windows CE will be marketed in two successive series of 250 vehicles during the first half of 2000. A saloon model fitted with the 2.0 HDi engine, the Xsara Windows CE offers a generous range of equipment including four front and side airbags, ABS brakes, air conditioning with automatic temperature control, front and rear power windows, alloy wheels and alcantara upholstery. The Xsara Windows CE is available in metallic Mauritius Blue.

The functions installed on the Xsara Windows CE include a radio, CD player, address book, hands-free telephone, navigation system, SMS, e-mail, data transfer to and from a portable peripheral.

With the Xsara Windows CE, Citroën becomes the world's first carmaker to equip a mid-range vehicle with an array of features marking a fundamental revolution in the automotive world. This revolution is based on the development of NICTs (new information and communication technologies). The objective is to adapt the Microsoft concept to the car, so that everybody can have access to information, no matter where they are."

This was what, 15 years ahead of its time in anticipating the integration of mass communications into humdrum family cars. You'd have to try hard not to buy a car with Bluetooth integration for your phone and music nowadays.

Didn’t know about these prototypes...

Visit to Jaguar Breakfast club earlier.

I knew the 220 was supposed to be a v12 but never realised they had made one, utterly brilliant it is as well. Similarly the X Type estate SVO with a manual Volvo gearbox.

New one for me - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manic_GT - hints of Opel GT perhaps.

The Jaguar Heritage Center is full of interesting cars, well worth a visit.

Don Law Racing actually converted a production XJ220 to use a V12:

the engine was an IMSA-spec racing V12 with 4-valve heads:
